Hugh Jass Posted July 9, 2017 Report Posted July 9, 2017 Great video. Great features! What TPI were you using for the wood blade? Looks like with an even more aggressive blade this thing would totally plow through timber. This isn't my platform but I love that everyone is outshining Dewalt on the features right now, they'll be forced to elevate their game with stuff like this for competition. Quote
dwain Posted July 15, 2017 Author Report Posted July 15, 2017 You're right it would. I'll have to check the TPI. Competition is the mother of innovation! Quote
Willy Posted July 26, 2017 Report Posted July 26, 2017 Looks like a really ergonomic saw. With a fair bit of features. I like the design. Feeling I might get into the bosch cordless range? they are expensive but they are really good quality tools. Quote
dwain Posted July 30, 2017 Author Report Posted July 30, 2017 yep they're great. In Aus they're in the same price range as Dewalt / Makita / Milwaukee etc. Quote
Eric - TIA Posted July 30, 2017 Report Posted July 30, 2017 Your right, this saw is awesome. They will be coming out here shortly. We tried one out and love it. Works great with the new Core Battery for run time. 1 Quote
aabee Posted July 30, 2017 Report Posted July 30, 2017 Oh, Bosch...you're such a tease to us in the US, where you come out with new tools at a snail's pace... 1 Quote
FrosBros82 Posted July 30, 2017 Report Posted July 30, 2017 So weird to me. I know Bosch makes high quality stuff... but how many things do they have in their cordless lineup? Is it more than 10? I'm sure it is, but there are times where I feel like they are holding their buyers hostage. They make quality stuff and the research is excellent, but they are so slow for new adaptations and tools. Woof. 3 Quote
dwain Posted August 2, 2017 Author Report Posted August 2, 2017 Bosch have all the main stuff, and a few bonuses Drills: drivers, hammers, SDSs Impacts: driver, hybrid, compact wrench, big wrench Saws: Sabres, Circular, Metal Cut, Bandsaw, Jigsaws Other tools: Grinders, Nailer, Sander, Multi-tool, Flexi-click Accessories: Vacuum, Lights, Radios What do you think they lack? 1 Quote
FrosBros82 Posted August 5, 2017 Report Posted August 5, 2017 The previous post is me showing ignorance. I wasn't aware of those tools being out, probably because I never see them or have seen them advertised. @dwain 1 Quote
dwain Posted August 5, 2017 Author Report Posted August 5, 2017 Well as a tool reviewer I ought to have a better feel for their range than the average tradie Quote

KnarlyCarl Posted August 6, 2017 Report Posted August 6, 2017 Indeed! But is that a challenge.....? . . . . . Accepted. Nope. Only person I ever challenge is myself! I'm just saying when the tools are available, our type tends to know about them before the average tradie does haha.. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk Quote

FrosBros82 Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 With the bosch stuff... does Home Depot carry most of their cordless options? I pretty much never see it there... every HD I walk into looks like it's sponsored by Milwaukee and DeWALT. Quote
KnarlyCarl Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 haha I know! I was just wanting to start some sort of cordless tool trivia challenge [emoji6]I like it! I do expect you to know more specifics about the tools, so you could ask us the questions, and I wouldn't even mind if you threw in some trivia about tools that only you guys know about. FrosBros82 Posted August 8, 2017 Report Posted August 8, 2017 Touché, sir. That makes sense...I never see the stuff because I rarely go to lowes! Quote
D W Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 @dwain how did you find the vibration level compared to other saws? I just gathered up a heap of manufacturer specs for vibration (posted in the Metabo section). On paper, this saw has remarkably low vibration! Perhaps the lowest of all full sized 18V saws. Quote
dwain Posted August 11, 2017 Author Report Posted August 11, 2017 I haven't really compared side to side so it's hard to say. But my gut feel is that it's vibration is going to be class-leading or there abouts. 1 Quote
