dwain
That'd be Metabo only I believe.

Even budget brands like Stanley FatMax & Ozito have one. The only other brand I found is Black & Decker (doesn't count). Let's hope Metabo have something spectacular brewing. That along with a brushless recip saw!

Next question: Who was the last of the big brands to bring out a cordless drill with metal chuck?
D W
Great news. Thanks for the inside info. I'll take an absolute guess at that question. Hitachi?

The mxt range didn't have a metal chuck yet. @dwain probably has an idea then when Bosch/DeWalt/etc... Came with metal chucks ?
kornomaniac
Well.... Makita 6010d niczd drill had a metal chuck. And that was in 1978 Im pretty sure some of the other brands didn't even make cordless drills in 1978 ?
dwain
Hmmm, i was thinking much too small. I was presuming (very incorrectly) that the uptake in metal chucks only happened in the Li-Ion age. Pls excuse my ignorance. As you should all have known (based on the questioner and his profile pic), the first brand to introduce BL motors to the general public was Makita. 2004 I believe....
Jronman
Ima guess Milwaukee
kornomaniac
@dwain not Makita they had the first brushless power tools but the first few years only for automobile, airospace and defence industries. They were not available for sale to the public. @Jronman not Milwaukee
dwain
hmm. I'll be keen to fact check this korno, but if it wasn't Makita then it must be Panasonic.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I doubt it too, plenty of people claim numbers are pumped up by all manufacturers. The industry really needs a proper system in place to actually measure these machines.
