Stercorarius
I am inclined to agree that it is the most ergonomic design for a cut off tools. Hand held corded 12-14" cut off saws for steel are all shaped like this because that's the best way to hold a tool like this. Even circular saw are in a similar configuration. A back handle and a top handle for the best control. A grinder set up is great for grinding, but even with a cut off wheel on a grinder most of the time it would be more comfortable if it was set up differently. Why not set it up like a grinder? Because it's a cut off tool not a grinder. I've used concrete saws and metal cut off saws and this seems to be the ideal configuration. Metabo does make a 9" cordless grinder in a grinder format. The difference seems to be that the Metabo is geared for upright cutting on guard rails and the likes while this seems more geared for concrete where you are on the ground. To each his own though.
Framer joe
Reading the replies , and my own....I think the saw is misunderstood..The blade size is perfect. My buds a roofer {tiles, stone) and mason...this is perfect for indoor use (I think you know why) and outside..brick,stone,rebar,roof tile, cement blocks..all cut much easier and emissions free...it’s not designed for cutting foundations or a hole in one....the same as the sthil battery one is used for, except you can use the batteries in all your cordless tools......there are good videos on the sthil 230.... .....it’s the same thing except in a Dewalt line of ordless tools,

That goes great with something like a SDS max rotohammer
kornomaniac
And it probably won't take long before they will also make a grinder like shape it's basically just designing/producing new plastic molds. The motor etc.. could be thesame
Framer joe
Perfect example today, pouring rain and the masons started the fireplace in the cellar ,laying block...they tried a corded saw to cut block and it kept tripping,so I unplugged them, then they got the gas sthil cutter out, way to much exhaust smoke, in the cellar ,so I told them shut it down, I have too many guys breathing the exhaust....this Dewalt cordless would have been perfect for them, I’m sure Dewalt will sell many of them. Ya there’s other cordless saws but using Dewalts means the batteries go to the other tools also...seems every company is ramping up their game. JakeDewalt
Can the Saw be used with an Abrasive Blade? Can it handle all the sparks without damage ? Asphalt blade?
