DWS780 45-degree Bevel cut AND the Kerf plate

Hi,

I am trying to  make a bevel cut on my DWS780 mitre saw ( love it).

I havent needed to make a 45 degree bevel cut.

When I do a dry run I notice that the blade will nick the kerf plate ( yellow).

Is this right?

Any ideas?

Thanks for looking!

The Kerf plate should have screws where you can adjust it.  Might have been put on wrong.  If you can't adjust the plate I would put some painters tape on it and make the cut, as along as the pate is plastic.  If it's just nicking it, you should be fine.  The tape will help prevent it from cracking etc.  Once you make the cut, take the tape off and you should be fine to make the cut you wanted.
