David92505 Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 I tried to avoid getting water in the motor, but I'm afraid I must have, because now it won't work. Should I buy a new one, or should I try to repair it? Quote

Whenever you wash a power tool either shake it to take the most of the water out and wait a few days to dry it properly and then use or use a blower or a heater to dry it, then you can use it, I have washed tools myself, but when I know that I am not going to use it for a while. If you have time of course repairing is a better option, less pollution for the environment, no?! Quote
Jronman Posted March 23 Report Posted March 23 I have done the very same thing different brand. String trimmer was on my trailer, and the road was muddy. Long story short, my string trimmer was a muddy string trimmer when I got home. Fixing is not worth the hassle. You might be better off buying a new one. Probably not the news you are looking for.
