Looks like they are coming out with some new Brushless motor's for their M-18 line. You can check the article out here. Looks like Makita has launched a campaign on there landing page explaining they were the first. I am glad to see some of the larger players taking on brushless technology, expect to see it in full swing in all brands over the next few years. Smaller players have brush-less technology. Festool, Panasonic, Hitachi, etc... When talking about Milwaukee's parent company TTI. They did 3.38 Billion in worldwide sales last year. Also keep in mind that I am not bashing anyone here, I embrace new technology and love that tool makers are getting serious about brush-less technology no matter what color they are made in. INteresting that on Milwaukee's site, they show different torque rating for the compact versus fat pack battery. Surprised to see the prices comparable to Dewalt's 20V drills.
