WigWagWorkshop Posted September 18, 2015 Report Posted September 18, 2015 Good Day Crew! I need to get a 23 gauge pin nailer for the workshop, unfortunately DeWalt does not sell one LOL. So I was looking at the Porter-Cable below, and was wondering if any of the crew has tried this model, OR what 23 gauge pin nailer with the same specs has this one that uses 5/8 in. to 1-3/8 in 23-gauge fasteners would you recommend. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Porter-Cable-23-Gauge-1-3-8-in-Pin-Nailer-PIN138/202213592?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053 Thanks in advance, -Steven
overanalyze Posted September 18, 2015 Report Posted September 18, 2015 Honestly the Harbor Freight pinner is an excellent tool. I have Senco and Porter Cable finish nailers. This pinner work great and is cheap. I read somewhere that HF bought the original dies from Senco when they changed their design...not sure how much truth there is to that...
jeffmcmillan Posted September 18, 2015 Report Posted September 18, 2015 HF nailers have a high jam rate in my experience. I havent had problems with the 23 gauge but have not used it much. The 18 gauge seems to jam a lot.
DR99 Posted September 19, 2015 Report Posted September 19, 2015 I would consider the Hitachi pin nailer its cheaper at 89. might be able to get one cheaper refurbished at bigskytools. I know Hitachi is quality with pneumatics. I'm really surprised Dewalt doesn't have one yet.http://www.lowes.com/pd_94384-67702-NP35A_0__?productId=3582270
