Yeah so far I've got great deals twice from two nice individuals here, there's always deals popping up that we try to keep up with posting. It's how I got my temp gun for about $75 off.

I subscribed to the home depot thread and others like it to keep up with deals.

I was looking at reviews online and I'm leaning towards one of the dealt laser. That's partially because those are the ones I've been able to find most of the review on but I'm probably going to have to get a less expensive one to get me going for now since I can only afford to put $50/$100 a week into my tool fund and I'm in a scramble to buy so many.

Well I'm a plumber so my suggestions would be based on plumbing tools lol. ..

Growing up, I helped dad on the jobsite as well as the farm.

We had bosch cordless tools; we had makita corded tools, their circular saws seemed to last thru any abuse we put it thru, I remember putting new cords and switches on them when they wore out; had a Makita contractor portable table saw; dewalt miter saws; Milwaukee corded sawzalls; paslode framing and trim nailers, senco roofing nailers; paslode PAT (power actuated tool); had senco compressors; a rolair gas powered compressor; had so many others I'm forgetting. The thing is, they were all great tools, the only bad purchase was a smaller dewalt circular saw that burnt the motor because we ran it like the Makita one, probably wasn't meant for heavy cutting.

Other than that, i can tell you recently I've been absolutely delighted with Milwaukee's cordless tools, the technology that's available is really getting put to use, very cool stuff.

With your situation, maybe get into used tools from eBay or try your local pawn shop, that way you can get some items cheap, and then get a feel for what you like, then later buy new when you know what you want
