Cheng Liu
It seems that the new SDS rotary hammer drill is finally coming to the US after having been available in Australia for quite some time. This means that I will sell my rotary hammer drill in anticipation. The current one is great and all but the lack of a hammer only mode is the main reason I will be upgrading. The only thing I find odd about the new one is the lack of any fore-grip. It is the first SDS rotary hammer drill I have ever seen without one. Below is a picture of it. jeffmcmillan
The lack of a side handle is surprising. It even looks like the area behind the chuck is meant to mount one.

KnarlyCarl
I think its to unlock the drill so you can move a chipper to the right angle.This.I didn't quite grasp that until I got my m18 rotary hammer, but if you want to rotate a chisel bit a certain angle, you can unlock it by putting the dial in the right position, then putting it back in lock position once you have the angle you wantSent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
Rammstein2609
It is the first SDS rotary hammer drill I have ever seen without one.Bosch have had a similar design for a while in Europe. Not sure about the USA.I've got a Ryobi unit and it's a great bit of kit for what I use it for.
