Well with my last experience of doing a online pre order regarding flexvolt, I'll be buying my future tools off the shelf at HD too since they've pretty much consumed the entirety of initial supply screwing all the online guys. It was a brilliant move by HD but I still can't believe that Dewalt let them pull it off.1 point

One of the 2 Pro5s I ordered is going for the warranty. Ridiculous squirrelly regardless what abrasive and speed you use, or if you use suction or not.1 point

I'd agree with Brian, the problem is it's huge. It's going to be very specific for full size vehicle work. I got a little excited because I've been waiting for Bosch to make a smaller one like Milwaukees compact M12. I could really use it at my job but the big one would interfere with pretty much everything. No maneuverability underneath a truck when your on a creeper.1 point

Bought a couple of new blades and a 50 lb. bag of medium grade soda for my blaster today. After 5 months and a lot of laminate flooring, the OEM Dewalt blade on my 780 is toast. By the time I finished my crown there was smoke rolling off the cuts and burning on the edges. Even the utmost care wouldn't prevent it. I usually get rid of OEM blades immediately, but I rode this one out. I decided to give the Diablo 60T combination blade a shot. I've always viewed combo blades as being for table and circ saws, but this one seems to have good reviews and is designed for miter saws, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Anybody used these? Went ahead and replaced my table saw blade too, but I went with the tried and true 40T General Purpose for that. I also got my refund from PayPal on the Dewalt mixing drill I took a chance on for $99. Found a new one from a reputable seller for $140 and ordered it. Took a chance and got burned. Oh well, PayPal made it right and another is on it's way.1 point

I've never used Milwaukee's trimmer, but my Ego is great. I wouldn't trade it for another trimmer.1 point

@n00b I would stick with a battery trimmer. Not sure if you have any other DeWALT tools but if you do I would suggest the flexvolt 60v trimmer. It comes with one 9.0/3.0 battery that works with your 20v tools. The trimmer uses a 60v motor which will perform better under load and should build up heat slower. The battery is only 3.0 amp hours at 60v which may seem low but it is actually pretty decent. Watt hours and efficiency per watt hour play a factor into runtime as well. I don't know how big your yard is or the run times of the battery in the flexvolt trimmer but you may need a second battery. You won't be able to use your 20v batteries with the flexvolt trimmer. You will need to use flexvolt batteries. The price for the kit is only $269 with one battery if you buy from acme tools. Another solid option would be Ego. Ego specializes in quality battery powered outdoor power equipment. From videos I've seen of Ego products, they look pretty solid. When Ego is in a tool comparison video it consistently makes the top 3. The Milwaukee trimmer is a good option as well. With the 9.0 battery the power will be good. The trimmer itself will heat up like your 20v DeWALT trimmer but I heard the battery has been designed to keep cooler than other m18 batteries. The Milwaukee will work with your small m18 batteries but the power and run time are going to be noticeably less and the battery won't keep as cool.1 point

I just bought the DTS 400 and it is fantastic. The sad part is, after getting my Pro 5 back from Festool servicing the pad is starting to do the same thing it was doing in the above video. It will just stop rotating under very little pressure.1 point
