Dwain just because your south of the equator doesn't have to make you evil!! For the non Pro Ryobi has the biggest lineup of tools and the newer releases have stepped up the quality and performance. The other thing is Ryobi has some of the best deals on batteries. Home depot did 2 packs of 4.0ah's batteries for years over different tool holidays.
Makita has a charger that will play a tune when the battery is fully charged, but I haven't heard of a tool brand that has an auditory alert on low battery power yet, for low power its all led lights.
I would try contacting Milwaukee, but I don't see any solution being expedient though. You could have possibly popped a fuse, but that's about all I can think of. I also have no idea how you would fix it either.
They make great solid tools but their PR is probably the weakest out of all the brand. The other thing is they have such a small lineup of tools that expands at a snails pace!
The person I feel bad for is investing in Bosch they are good tools but don't expect much in specialty tools at all. I will say its a little better now, but in general Bosch has the smallest lineup, and is the slowest growing.
Osha silica rules are pushing cordless dust collection/vacuums. Also Dewalt releasing tools in other markets is a test to gauge interest and part of it some tools they know just won't sell like the Flexvolt Alligator saw. Dewalt stuck out when then released a track saw years ago people didn't know what it was about funny thing is Festool is actually helping Dewalt a little in that regard and people see what track saws are about and how useful they can be.
We have seen some issues with Milwaukee releasing so many tools so fast the finish nailers being a good example of a tool that needed some more time to bake in development.
Well it took awhile for the 20v max lineup to fill out. The first year and a 1/2 was just the basic's. It took a good 2 years for a jobsite radio, and forever for a finish nailer replacement. That annoyed a ton of guys especially when they came out with a framer first.
Nothing so far and it might be awhile Snow removal is a smaller market than say a lawn mower. You never know what product managers are thinking though. It does make sense as Dewalt probably has a bigger built in market than B&D regarding 18/20v tools.
