  1. what is the point of two blades on a recip? VERY gimmicky...
  2. They are great unit. http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/2014/06/bosch-idh182-18v-ec-brushless-socket-ready-impact-tools-in-action-pro/ http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/power-tool-forum/index.php?/topic/3781-bosch-18v-brushless-hybrid-impact-compact-drill-review/?http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/2014/04/bosch-idh182-18v-ec-brushless-socket-ready-impact-with-14-hex-and-12-square-drive-kit-tool-crazy/ http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/power-tool-forum/index.php?/topic/4557-review-brushless-bosch-drill-impact/?hl=%2Bbosch+%2Bimpact+%2Bwrench
  3. Yeah the 4.0a batts have been out in UK and Aus for quite a while, and 5.0ah for a month or two as well. Not sure why they're not getting them to the US quickly. You'd think they would be keen prevent mass migrations...
  4. i see what you did there yeah the FUEL really was a couple of years before its time...
  5. Yep, it would certainly be my tool of choice, but way above my needs. I think the number of gears required depends on the RPM. For a tool up around 2000 RPM, I like having a three speed, but two will do. For the FEIN, you need at LEAST three, and four is nice!
  6. If you hold the 790 and 780 side-by-side, you'll realise how much nicer the 790 is. Shorter, more powerful, BL and that metal chuck is lovely....
  7. never had troubles with my DCD790 chuck...
  8. I thought of regopit too I think Weird Al's video is far more creative than the sexier video though
  9. Thanks all! Will be sure to return the love woodstockva
  10. Thankyou ToolGuyd, made my day! http://toolguyd.com/weird-al-handy-music-video/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+toolguyd+%28ToolGuyd%29
  11. Hey Chris, That is absolutely FEINs intention. It's just gonna take them some time to get the majority of 14.4V tools to the 18V line, and probably a couple of years to get German designed and made compact drill, drivers, wrenches etc...
  12. Hey everyone, If you want (or just want to lust over) a serious drill, look no further. This thing was nearly twice as fast as my DCD985 (before its crippling) at small diameter steel drilling ... The fillers in FEINs 18v range, have a very short review here:
  13. and now it's time to eat some humble pie our original results seem to be erroneous, it is one serious tool! I've edited the original post with the new video.
  14. and now it's time to eat some humble pie our original results seems to be erroneous, and a second video shows the Makita's true stripes. It is one serious tool! http://youtu.be/gUscFyTacS0
  15. I couldn't decide which of the three existing relevant threads to post this is, so i just started a new one http://toolguyd.com/makita-18v-xph07-torque/
  16. i can vouch for the LXDT06, its a nice impact driver and powerful enough. if you plan to pair it with a compact drill, id avoid Makita, they don't have a decent one. If you plan to buy a full size / heavy duty drill, then either will suit fine. If price is similar, I'd go Milwaukee. Other good options are Dewalt and Bosch, who both have excellent brushless offerings for drill and impact... This video (of mine) compares that Makita impact driver (and drills), to Dewalt and Bosch offerings. http://youtu.be/0Fg9UqDMXSQ
  17. unsurprisingly, there is a lot of similarity to the Dewalt models, especially the batteries. They almost look like they could be interchangeable. The impact driver looks pretty different though. i believe MAC batteries ARE interchangeable with Dewalt...
  18. but the battery is identical too. They would need to modify the tool to suit their own battery if they were just 'filling out a line'. im still calling it photoshop
  19. would anyone but a professional plasterer use one of these? i suppose it might drop drill / impact driver usage dramatically for some!
  20. nice job! and that's clever regopit, very light!
  21. couldn't get onto that German page. Javier where did you get that photo? As far as I know, Ryobi don't have slide-on batteries, and that is not their green. Do they have a new line? Looks more like photoshopping to me ...
  22. Thanks Chris, appreciate the support! We're having fun, and just got added to TIA's 'featured channels'!
  23. Thanks Travis and TIA! I don't think we'll be able to keep up with the likes of Javier and Woodstock, but we'll keep em coming as often as we can!
