  1. A set of craftsman SAE ratcheting wrenches and a set of Gearwrench Metric ratcheting wrenches. And not a tool but 2 sheets of furniture grade birch ply, 16 feet of 4/4 poplar and an 9 foot 8/4 soft maple board. Starting my Wife's tack trunk tomorrow.
  2. Man that's a slick deal. Plus being able to add the dado is sweet. I love my DW745 but alas not dado ability.
  3. Nice Jerry, I remember seeing a video on this a year or so ago. It's actually a pretty useful looking tool and the adjustable scribed I have would easily be outclassed by this thing!
  4. Thanks Mike, no class need dude. This is actually a fun project that I know you could do!
  5. Zach, I believe curly maple and tiger maple are different variations of the grain patterns. This particular pattern is called tiger maple but really Zach.....tomatoes - to-h-mahtoes....
  6. Not a bad idea Jimbo, I'll try it on my next one. I'll try it on a non end grain board like this one as I'm a little nervous about getting the juice pooling in the grains. My Wife is going to use this one as a serving platter and hot plate. She's on the way home now and she's been really excited about getting this one as I got all of the other ones down and out to their owners. I'm going to make one a little bit smaller than this one and I will try to incorporate that channel in it!
  7. I think I know what your talking about Jimbo, do you mean the routed channel?
  8. Being I posted the other ones here, I just finished the last of the batch of cutting boards. I made this one for my Wife to go with her pen. This one is Tiger Maple,Cherry and Black Walnut.
  9. Oh! I have t used the Dewalt TS but....I know a guy that has one and I've seen it in use and it looks like a pretty slick machine and with DC it does a pretty good job.
  10. Chewie, don't know why I didn't see this post but... I run the Dewalt DW745 contractor saw and a Festool TS55REQ track saw. I wish I had a table saw but.....if you have seen my shop post, I have very limited room. So, I am running the contractor saw and TS. When I move to another shop (hopefully above ground) I will end up adding a SawStop contractor or cabinet saw. But.... Depending on money and space and when you do, I am making the small table saw and TS work right now.
  11. Thank you Comp. I am really plugging away now too. I started an advanced woodworking class so I can learn some mortise and tenon as well as hand cut dovetailing so with this project I am designing my shop is going to be well coated with sawdust. Though the dust deputy is working out quite nicely.
  12. Well being a Canook you get hosed with tool prices all the time so good for you Comp! Bask in the cheap tool prices while you can!
  13. Thanks a lot guys! I've been getting a lot done down there too. I'm currently working on what will be a saddle and tack chest for my wife. I have been trying to make a cut list but we will see, here's a sketch.....
  14. Funny that Jason, it does appear to end up that way
  15. Are you FREAKIN' KIDDIN' ME?????
  16. @Glasseyi that's quite the find dude. I would be at a complete loss trying to find bugging in there. I've got the Dewalt upper unit and have a hard time remembering where I put stuff. Two levels and I'd look like an old woman looking for her car in the mall parking lot.
  17. I have heard a LOT of positives about the PC but have not used it. I love my Kreg, it suits me just fine and for the money out it was a no brainier at the time. And I'd agree with Rich that the K5 is definitely the cats meow of the different types of Kregs out there. I have the K4, I don't use it all the time but it's a great jig and in an effort to offer myself the benefits of the K5 I added a base with extensions to support material. I made mine out of OSB, sanded the edges and it works pretty well. If I were buying one for the first time the K4 is generally $99 and the K5 is $139, I'd probably spend the extra and go with the K5, mostly for the support and I have had mine for years so it doesn't have the DC hood which you really should have as the chips get in the way.
  18. Well.....and 8" to go with the 6" Powermatic??? I'm in! Thanks Jason!
  19. The problem with that Korno is if you buy a pro grade tool from a box store, the employees in many cases (not all) don't know the first thing about the tools they are selling. Therefore not a surprise the poor guy didn't get that information.
