    DeWlt 8v tools...?

You probably already know this but in case you don't they recently announced an led work light for the 8v platform.
  2. Wow they went straight to brushless for their cordless multi tool. I'm sure I have to wait till next year for a fuel m18 multi tool.
  3. I don't feel like going through the hassle of returns over a charger. It does work fine. Had the jacket been used and worn or the battery been a non red lithium then I would make an exchange.
  4. First time cpo purchase. Based on you guy's experience with purchases with them I decided to buy since they had a nice deal on a Milwaukee heated jacket kit for the price of the jacket bare tool. Jacket was listed as new and arrived in 4 business days. Upon arrival the Milwaukee jacket box had a bit of wear on it and the tape that covers the opening flap had been removed. On the inside there was an old m12 charger, like the very first ones that didn't even have the m12 logo, just says 12v on it. The charger is in good condition but had a bunch of stuck on lint. The battery is new but the wrapper was partially opened. The jacket is new but the wrapper had been opened. Everything works fine but I'm a bit disappointed I get an ancient charger that looks used although in excellent condition and the whole Package looks like it's a store return. I'm gonna keep it all unless something fails within the return period but the experience is upsetting. Had this been an eBay purchase and everything been properly disclosed I would be OK with it but like I said it was listed as new. You guys have any experiences like this with cpo?
  5. Lowes will no longer my returns without a receipt. I know this sends obvious if I lose my receipt but in most cases I don't mind store credit as I will be putting the money back in the store by buying something. They said my id had been banned, supposedly too many returns on file but I told them I usually buy extra items for the job and return what doesn't get used. It's better to have extra than to not have enough and constantly make trips to the store. Each trip wastes valuable work time. I often lose receipts and hd had no problem with me returning brand new items without a receipt, ofcourse they pay in store credit but I'm fine with that. Lowes excuse for banning me from returning items without an id was because they said people abuse the system by stealing items and then returning them for store credit. Now I'm forced to use that my Lowes card just in case I lose my receipt.
  6. Free shipping on new tool orders over $49. Just ordered a m12 heated jacket kit. Also my first time buying from CPO.
  7. I have a dewalt dw716 very similar to the one listed except not a slider. Excellent saw but one thing about dewalt miter saws that I don't like is that they don't come with extensions or clamps. Sure you can buy them separately but for what you pay for the saw since they are expensive, they should be included. Also the clamps are extremely hard to find. Bosch miter saws don't have that problem since they include both in their miter saws. One thing that I think is a huge deal for the Bosch pictured is that it doesn't slide but instead has an extending arm which makes it way more compact than any other slider by not having rails stick out in the back. On the other side, if that dewalt saw is a dw780 then it comes with a built in LED light which is great I've heard. It could be the dw718 which is close but doesn't have that feature. One feature that I really love of the dewalt miter saws is that they use a lock down tab instead of a knob you must tighten to lock into miter angles. This makes constant changing miter angles a breeze. It's hard to suggest one over the other but those are the pros and cons I would consider if I had to choose. Hope that helps in your decision.
  8. It would be interesting to see Milwaukee's take on tool boxes. Probably take Dan's idea and incorporate a charger. I think they should start with tool bags. I like their kit tool bags but they are very basic. I also like their power tool hard cases but they lack accessory storage.
  9. EBay is great, never tried CPO outlets but people on here love them. I've seen a ton of awesome deals on new tools on eBay and if you buy out of state on eBay no sales tax. Just make sure to buy from experienced sellers.I do have a question for you guys on here. Does anyone have positive experiences with recondition tools also known as refurbished or remanufactured? All of my electronics purchases for refurbished electronics have been sour. Because of that I tend to steer clear of reconditioned tools.
  10. I'd say go for it. Wonder if this is a craigslist purchase? Just make sure to test everything out before you buy including the charger. You could always sell the charger to recoup some of the cost unless you need 2 chargers. Extra batteries are always great to have.
  11. $199 bare tool for both the fuel circular and reciprocating saws. Very pricey but worth it
  12. The mp3 player and GPS were lithium ion powered, I should have worded that in there. They suffered the same fate as my nicad and nimh batteries when I let them sit drained for a long period of time. Well some of us learned the hard way about rechargeable batteries. Even lithium ion self discharges, just at a much slower rate. My problem with the electronics that were powered by lithium was that I ran them down and let them sit for a long while drained. I make sure not to make the same mistake with my power tool batteries.
  13. I wonder if Some of those battery problems could be due to user negligence. I've learned the hard way that if batteries are left discharged for too long they die. I've used all sorts of batteries like nicad and nimh rechargeable AA batteries, mp3 player batteries, a rechargeable gps, all that worked fine for many years but as soon as I let them sit for a long period of time, the batteries died. Even my parents ryobi nicad batteries worked fine until they collected dust in the garage and died. I've never had my power tool batteries die on me but I do make sure to cycle then often and top them off if they will sit unused for some time.
  14. Welcome RD. I would suggest craigslist and eBay for some good deals on tools. Also don't be afraid to buy used tools, although most of the tools I've bought were new, the few used ones I've got work great.
  15. Thanks, sorry for the late reply
  16. I considered makita a while back but the fuel gauge or lack of put me off. But now that I think of it, with the ridiculously low charge times it might not matter as much for many.
  17. Milwaukee's been real busy lately
  18. Great job on the tilework. Looks very pro. Seems we were both working on tile around the same time. I tiled a tub surround recently. I like your choice of grout color, Dark! Many cases it ends up dark in the end so might as well start out dark.
  19. Thanks Eric J, this site and your YouTube videos are great. Ive gotten a bunch of tools because of your reviews.
  20. Thanks Chase, Conductor, Jeth
  21. Lol, its pronounced Ha-Vee-Air
  22. Hello all! I just joined today. I love this site. I am a remodeler although mostly do flooring and also do home theater installations on the side.
