  1. Finally got the diablo blade yesterday, get to test it out today while I build a fence
  2. The Bosch power box is the best radio in the large radio segment. It's feature rich with I believe 4 speakers and a subwoofer and battery charger. Now that I look at the pictures of this one it looks more similar in size to the new compact dewalt radio. This radio is innovative because it's the only compact radio that can charge batteries and has Bluetooth something that other tool brands haven't incorporated into their radios. You can't really compare the power box to this m18 as it wouldn't be apples to apples.
  3. I'm glad I switched to Milwaukee 18v. I hated always wishing my brand had all the new stuff like this.
  4. I know they ain't the biggest or the best but 3 tool bags for only $20 at home depot black Friday deals. http://toolguyd.com/home-depot-black-friday-2013/
  5. Look it's Chase's "fuel" radio. Tia wrote an article on this too. This thing is awesome, their bringing back the charger and throwing in a Bluetooth connection. 2 things I've been wanting. Not as cool looking as the current m18 radio. The new radio would be perfect if it also charged the m12 batteries. I just hope it's not to big, I think the m12 radio is the perfect size for me.
  6. Was doing some shopping at an out of town home depot today and stumbled across the right angle m18 drill for only $50 bare tool. Not sure if it's on sale at all stores but it's worth a look.
  7. High heat is supposed to last about 2 hours on a red lithium battery. Although I haven't timed it on the high setting I would say it's around 2 hours more or less. 2 hours ain't that long. As far as fitment, maybe the website you buy from has a sizing chart. I know the site I bought mine had it and so does the Milwaukee site but not sure about the hoodie. That's the sucky part about ordering clothes online is that you can't try it before you buy.
  8. I have the first gen jacket and I would assume the hoodie uses the same heating system as the original jacket as it has the same heat zones and the same non USB battery holder. The jacket heats well. Heat is only effective if the clothing is making good contact with your chest and back so make sure to buy the correct size. Won't do you any good if it's loose on you. High heat is good but the medium and low settings are hardly noticeable. Those are best if you are doing some manual labor which supplements your own body heat. I know you were expecting info on a hoodie but I hope this helps to some degree.
  9. Very nice work table, basswood YouTube video directs to run paulks website but I was able to see it on the basswood ordering site. I really like the work table design by Paul. The tripod saw horse looks very easy to replicate without plans. Tripod saw horse is also a good idea.
  10. Dewalts products will only be assembled in the u.s.a. using globally sourced materials. Can't legally use the "made in USA" slogan. Either way it's still a fact that any brand you purchase on u.s. soil supports the u.s. economy. Not just on taxes on revenue but it generates and maintains tons of jobs for Americans.
  11. This argument always comes down to keeping Americans employed. But it doesn't take long to realize that supporting any brand employs Americans. Let's use a Japanese brand for instance, when you buy makita at home depot some might think "I'm only supporting the Japanese economy" but in reality that Japanese brand is keeping people employed in the usa at that hd, earning revenue for the local economy, keeping jobs at the store, also keeps american truckers employed distributing the product. Then there are american distribution facilities throughout the country (more american jobs), makita american headquarters, container ports, railroads etc.
  12. There's a ton of tools I would like to have but my usage doesn't justify them. For example I would Like a cordless rotary hammer but my hammer drills are adequate for the time being.
  13. I know that by saying what I am about to say will make me the least popular guy on the site but I feel it's worth saying. Basing any purchase solely on where it's made, built, or assembled is foolish. Things like quality, design, features, reliability, warranty, reputation and others should be on top of the list of buying decisions.
  14. Not sure how to fix but I got an awesome idea for how to deter and prank the "artists" at the same time. After you clean the graffiti, Coat the whole wall with neverwet and then spotlight the wall for night time and add a security camera pointed at the wall. The camera will not deter the artists but it will catch their epic fail as their spray paint just melts off the wall when they spray. YouTube the recording for all to see. The artist will be to embarrassed to try again
  15. I agree with what all you guys are saying. I have a decent set of m18 fuel tools along with a growing fast family of m12 tools which are my everyday tools so I know a good power tool. I only bought this drill to check it out and then resell on craigslist.
  16. if you're talking about the premium drill then yeah I agree. I used to have one and didn't need the middle speed. Unnecessary. The new brushless screwed up by not including the mode selector switch. That to me was is more important than a third gear. The charger is a "slow" charger. I haven't opened the package yet but it's rated to charge the compact batteries in an hour. That's twice as long. This is one of the corners they had to cut in order to sell for so cheap. Also supposedly these batteries are 1.3ah. Making the whole package a Porter cable drill in dewalt clothing.
  17. Copper is great and all until your jerk tenants rip it out for scrap. That's exactly what happened to my mom's rental property a couple of years ago. Had to replace the entire plumbing with something that isn't worth anything at the recycling/scrap yard. Went with pvc I believe.
  18. Great deal but dewalt had to cut a bunch of corners to achieve that lower price.
  19. Just got the new 20v dewalt drill that's on sale for $99 at either hd or lowes for black Friday. It's a brand new model dcd771. Haven't opened it yet but the specs on the package are : 1/2" chuck 2 speed 0-450/0-1,500 rpm 300 UWO (dewalts cheesy torque power rating) Comes with 2 compact batteries and a different smaller charger I will open and test it out in a week
  20. Even Walmart has better tools than harbor freight
  21. Just took a gander at Walmart today and yes it has the bostitch tools. Nice addition because it never stocked even the Stanley fat max power tools before. Also has some Hitachi power tools. The older pod style battery pack cordless tools. Nicad and lithium versions.
  22. So many Stanley b&d brands and yet the very similar looking battery packs aren't cross compatible, what a shame
  23. Wow I didn't know that. Props to Hitachi. 75 minutes is actually very good, that's the same time as 4.0 packs
  24. Wouldn't mind that or even if they made a newer more expensive quick charger for the even higher capacity batteries.
