A lot of the old 18v tools are going on sale for next to nothing.

For you I would get the hog ring. It is way better when it comes to changing sockets. If you need more power for head bolts or something along those lines I would get the high torque impact as well. I have used it and it gets plenty of power for engine work. The compact should be fine for 90% of engine tear down.

I always use cutting oil on bits when drilling anything over 1/8 inch thick.

Thanks conductor. I will order them on Monday.

I can't think of any good air ones that are fairly cheap. I haven't seen any electric ones.

Try ingersoll rand or Chicago pneumatic.

If you want to see bad lighting you should see our ford 8n. It is just like two cheap flashlights taped to the hood. It is pathetic but it is still 6 volt too. We also have a Massey ferguson 165 and the lights are great on it. What would you recommend for a good set of drill bits?

Milwaukee has great customer service. I have commented on their YouTube videos about a product or something and they get back within a day or so. It is the same if you contact them through their website too.

It may not be an oscilloscope but congrats anyway.

I think the m18 will have more than enough power unless something is really rusted on. It gets 200 ft lbs vs about 125 with the impact driver plus you lose some with the adaptor. As conductor said go with the hog ring for sure, the pins are fine if you only use one or two sockets throughout the day but if you need to change it you need a small punch and a third hand.

That is the 18 volt version.

The 12 volt wouldn't cut it for most auto repairs. It would be fine for small equipment though. I would go with the m18. It will have plenty of power for most auto work.

Thanks for doing this Red!

1. To mark equal lengths for roofing trusses.
2. Cedar stump house
3. To grease the skid road to make the logs move easier.
4. Tighten a chain on a saw. Removing spark plugs on chainsaws, weedeaters, ect. Removing chainsaw bars.
5. Sometimes a great notion

This is the one Wayne is talking about.http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0052TZB76
The HDH-181 is the hammer drill.

Dads helper has a 99 7.3 that needs glow plugs. He has to plug it in for about three hours before he leaves. A lot of people don't realize how much electricity a block heater uses.

It hasn't been bad enough I haven't been able to get out this year. I can't stand staying at home on a snow day. I will usually go help my grandpa with the truck. I don't think we will get much snow on this one. It is about 10 degrees and still sleeting. The sleet isn't too bad to drive on, the tires can still dig in and get traction.
-
You would be plugging your truck up often here. You would also probably need to cover up part of the radiator to keep it from losing all the heat. I nearly had to when it was -30 with the wind chill.
-
I'm in southeast Missouri and we already have an inch and a half of sleet and they are calling for eight inches of snow. We aren't getting any ice thankfully.
-
All of this is making me want to restore my truck now.
-
Welcome back! The truck looks great. I bet the exhaust will drone like crazy going down the highway.
-
The voltage coming into the charger shouldn't matter because it will have to drop to 18 volts.
-
I would look on eBay for the charger.

They come as a bare tool or as a two battery kit.
