  1. You should be able to adjust the riving knife (the part the guard attaches to) up and down. Thus increasing or decreasing the height of the guard relative to the blade. Take a look, I may be wrong but I remember their being a couple positions.
  2. DEEDUB35 is right, you've got some old stuff there. You've gotta be careful buying from Ebay.
  3. Probably the later. What do the date codes say on top of the DC9096 batteries? It should look like this "201342 or 2012-53". The circ saw typically only comes with 1 battery. It's weird for the saw to come with 2. Also, I don't think chargers have come with a "recondition" button for about a decade. Is there a date code on the bottom of the charger?
  4. May want to call a service center on this one. The wiring is the only thing I'd be concerned about. take a look at the parts diagrams here: http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Products/Detail?productNumber=DW716
  5. The porter cable PCE605 accepts the Dewalt blades. But you can't put porter cable blades in the Dewalt tool free system.
  6. How old are the blades? need new ones?
  7. Others have done it, see the links below: http://dewaltownersgroup.com/index.php/topic,1307.0.html http://dewaltownersgroup.com/index.php/topic,700.45.html http://dewaltownersgroup.com/index.php/topic,1307.0.html
  8. Unfortunately Dewalt discontinued the DW712 8-1/2" single bevel sliding miter saw. Other tool manufacturers still make one (Bosch 8-1/2" and Makita 7-1/2"). All of these are single bevel though. I'd look at the DW717. It's a 10" but double bevel. I don't think you'll find a double bevel 7-1/2"- 8-1/2"
  9. There are some changes coming soon to this forum that will hopefully help with traffic and atmosphere. I work for Dewalt in outside sales in the US. I've been with the company for a little over 6 years. I visit this forum as well as other forums and tool blog websites, such as Tools in Action, to read up on what the competition is doing, hearing user feedback on our products, and answering questions from readers. Tools in Action run another forum that gets a little more traffic if you're interested http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/power-tool-forum/
  10. It may be cheaper to buy a new DW618... I see you are in Florida, Dewalt has a service center in Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm, and Fort Lauderdale. I'd contact them and see how much a DW618M would be (assuming they sell it as one piece). Otherwise a new DW618 is $149 on Amazon right now.
  11. Congrats on the new house and you picked a couple great tools!
  12. In the states they use "XR" for brushless tools only. They also use "XR" on 2.0 & 4.0 Ah batteries.
  13. The DCD785C2 is not an "XR" or brushless drill. So yes, it is normal for the motor to get hot, particularly during heavy applications.
  14. Do you mean the DCD795D2? It has a brushless motor and it shouldn't run as hot as a brushed motor. But because it is a motor and it's spinning some heat is normal, particularly during heavy use.
  15. yep *Edit: I was wrong, PC blades will not work on the Dewalt Tools Tool Free system. you'd have to use the screw attachment.
  16. Regarding your temperature question. There is a low, medium, high setting. No thermostat.
  17. Behind where the Dewalt Battery goes there should be a removable plate. Behind that you will find a 9v battery that should need replacing.
  18. Yes it will. 45° Bevel Cut Capacity (dimensional lumber) 2x8 90° Cross-Cut Capacity (dimensional lumber) 4x6" 90° Cross-Cut Capacity (Max Width) 2x8 45° Miter Cut Capacity (Max Height) 4x4 dimensional lumber 45° Miter Cut Capacity (Max Width) 2x6 dimensional lumber
  19. The batteries are the same, seems like you need to pick up the 220v charger.
  20. Take a look at this page: http://www.dewalt.com/tool-categories/dust-management-dust-extractor-accessories.aspx All items that start with a "DWV" go to the DWV012.
  21. Visit a Dewalt Service Center, they should have them in stock. Otherwise, find a local independent Dewalt dealer and ask them for the Dewalt Rep's contact info. Call him up, he'll know if anyone in your area are carrying them.
  22. It is ok to store it like that, you won't have any problems.
