On power tools you might want to place your tape over the serial number, not only is that space sometimes recessed but also protects the number from damage (manufactures won't respect any warranty if the serial number is damaged in any way).

I just put purple electrical tape on everyone of my tools, all of my co-workers know what is mine.

Honestly the electric drive is a wast of money Unless it it's your only means of transportation and you travel long distances.after winter passes you might want to look into a cyclecross bike...a Lot less rolling resistance but still rugged.
