  1. Another vote for the Fiskers mauls for the money. I would like to try the Wilton bash, it looks like a beast.
  2. Went to a different HD today, they had the clamp meter on clearance for $30. Bought one of those too! Now I have no excuse to learn how to use a multimeter.
  3. I don't have any, but I did see them in Home Depot today, so they are starting to go on sale. My only concern is, where do you put the battery? In your pocket?
  4. At the original discount price of $97.06 I was considering buying one. Went in today and they were marked down to $33.03 and could not pass it up.
  5. I did the swap on mine as well, but it took me a little longer. I put the internal parts down besides each other, walked away to do something else, when I came back I put the same parts back in the same locks and had to do it all over again. Tools and beer do not mix.
  6. Yes those are the tools they sent, there is also a set of electrical screw drivers that were back ordered. The backpack is heavier then I thought it would be, very well built. Your knives are great looking. The knives in my avatar we made by me and my wife, she made the top one and I made the bottom two at a Bark River Knives and Tool grind in. Another great company with outstanding customer service.
  7. I want to share a great customer service experience I had recently with Milwaukee. I shared on another thread that I was in search of the Milwaukee tool chest after seeing Eric's and Dan's review. I tracked the top and bottom down at a couple of different Home Depots. Got them home unboxed and with the help of a neighbor I got them put together. During the assembly I found the long drawer slides fell apart. Also there was a couple of dings and scratches in the powder coat. I took some pictures and called Milwaukee. Since the chest is such a beast to try to return, they shipped me new drawer slides. To compensate for the damage, that could only have been done at the factory since these things are packed like a tank, they told me to go to their hand tool site and select 5 tools and they would ship me for my trouble. Received all buy one tool that is on backorder and I'm sure will arrive soon. Milwaukee has earned my business and made a fan boy out of me. John
  8. Great work, that looks like it come in handy. I did something similar, but more subtle out of an old desk for charging computers, phones, etc. Nice to have all the chargers in one place.
  9. I'm nervous about talking my camp knife across, the blue handled knife in my signature!

    Costco

Had to go to the local Costco today for something else and took a quick look around, no DeWalt tough cases that I found. Darn
  11. I plan on sticking to a hammer and chisel. I wouldn't use a rotary hammer enough after the trip to justify the purchase. I get to nervous, if its illegal I would be so nervous that they would spot me right away.
  12. Yep, I'm bringing the wife and mother in law up to go to the Amethyst mines to do a little digging. We will be stopping along the north shore on the way up to look for agates. They are seriously into rock hounding if you know of any local places that very few know about, drop me a message. John
  13. If you see the truck and see the person stocking, stop them and talk to them. I ran into the guy stocking the local HD and he pointed out the Milwaukee double pack of fastback knives for $11. I bought the last one. We talked for half an hour about tools.
  14. I'm heading to Thunder Bay in a week, maybe I should look around for some ammo. Like others have said, it's tough to find in the states. What is the rules about taking it back across the border?

    Costco

That's a sweet deal.....the cart alone is going for at least $150, or it was when I gave $150 for it.
  16. Thanks for the video, I'll watch it. They have the clamp model on clearance as well for $90.06
  17. My local Home Depot has a couple Milwaukee multi meters 2216-20 on clearance for $97.06. I don't really know how to use it and if I did it would be for around the house checking circuits etc. I have always wanted to learn how to use one and thought this might be a good deal and something fairly easy to learn with. What are your thoughts on the price for this tool? Thanks, John
  18. I've been hanging out at the local home depots looking for the bottom section of the Milwaukee tool chest. I see that 77Ford found one that is cheaper than the deal earlier this year. The stores in my area have a clearance section where they put things they are getting rid of. I haven't seen much on the shelfs. I did notice that the stores here just went through their yearly inventory. I wonder if the deals would have been better just before the count. I didn't get in and look around before they inventoried. Now I'm on the lookout for DeWalt toughbox's on clearance.
  19. thanks for the tips on the ending pennies. I've seen reference to the computer in the store before. Where on the stores computer do you look for the "deals" John
  20. I have to agree with this comment. Knives are very personal and you should have one at hand where ever you are. I picked up one of these packages yesterday. I wish there was extra blade storage in the knife, but for the money they are great to have available when needed. John
  21. I have to say that I'm impressed with this tool chest. I picked up the top today and could not believe the way it was packaged. Eric mentioned that it was packged well, thats an understatement. I used to be a buyer of cardboard for packaging and my guess is they had at least $25 in packaging on the top alone. Now I need to find the rolling bottom chest and I will be ready to ask the neighbor to help me put the top on it.
  22. Maybe I missed something, how are you finding these deals? Website or an Ap??
  23. Thought I would take a walk through the local HD today. Walked in and the first thing I saw was a guy with a bright red Milwaukee shirt on. He greeted me and we started talking, I asked him if they were going to bring the chest back to the stores and he said he didn't think so. He did say that another store in a nearby town had 4 of the tops in stock and he said that they were priced at the original price of $299, but he didn't think they had the bottoms. He called the other store, got someone on the line and they confirmed stock, he handed me his phone and I put one on will call and will pick it up tomorrow or friday. Now I just have to find a bottom at the original price or on clearance somewhere.
  24. It looks like they are on HD's site again, order only. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-46-in-16-Drawer-Tool-Chest-and-Rolling-Cabinet-Set-Red-and-Black-48-22-8510-20/206126307
