  1. Big gun, knife and hunting fan. I thought I would help kick off the new area with a "what's your favorite?" thread. Knife - fixed blade - Bark River Knife and Tool - you can't beat the design and value for the money Knife - folder - I jut got my first Zero Tollerance - like it so far Gun - Almost anything other than Taurus, sorry I have never shot one that didn't malfunction Hunting - currently bow hunting for deer
  2. Point of sale display got me. I was at HD and had the Roybi in the cart. Then I saw a Milwaukee m12 drill and impact driver combo with charger and two batteries for $100. Put the Roybi back on the shelf and got the Milwaukee. The wife's happy with the size of the drill and I get to play with the impact and m12 system. Everything else I have is dewalt. Like selling crack. They know how to get you hooked.
  3. I bought one of the slider saws at Harbor Freight to cut geodes and rocks. It's durable and has held up to the unusual shaped stuff, I would not hesitate to use it to cut tile.
  4. I will take a look at the Ryobi. I'm afraid that if I spent the money on the M12 she would never get to use it because it would be in my truck or tool box. Plus it most likely is overkill. The Dewalt gryo was the one that was on clearance, but someone got to it before. Thanks for all the suggestions and I will update when we get something and find out how it works. John
  5. I would like some recommendations on a power screwdriver to use around the house. I don't care what battery platform it is as long as it is easy for my wife to drive screws to hang pictures, put together furniture and general house hold chores. I was looking at a Dewalt but the one I had spied on clearance is gone. So the field is wide open. Thanks, John
  6. Brilliant, getting my wife involved in my interest allows us to do more stuff together. If she likes her setup, she will understand when you need to buy more boxes for your tools and equipment.
  7. I finally sent myself the picture too.
  8. Yep, gotta have a unit for your tool.... I like the looks of the Husky's at HD. Haven't seen the Harbor Freight boxes.
  9. I got mine in the mail yesterday, a single 8TPI DS0608CF carbide tipped blade. Thanks Diablo I will try to post a pic when I get my phone downloaded.
  10. If I remember correctly it was $500 for the set. It was right next to a Husky that looked a bit bigger and was the same price.
  11. I was in the local HD yesterday and saw they have these in stock. Must have got a shipment after the Christmas rush and the big TIA video. http://professional-power-tool-guide.com/2014/12/dewalt-36-in-metal-rolling-and-top-storage-chest/.
  12. Did anyone receive a free sample? I have not.
  13. Looking good. Are those Handy Talkies I see?
  14. Sorry, I haven't been back sooner. I'm glad to see that some got in and was able to take advantage of the offer. Thanks to those that posted links, I didn't think about doing that.
  15. I met a Diablo rep the other day at an Acme tool days event and he sent me to www.thegamechanger.com to get a free sample bit. I signed up, but it's not been long enough to know when or what they will send me. Give it a shot.
  16. If you happen to be in central Iowa Acme tool is having 10% off almost everything in the Des Moines store. Several tool reps. there talking about their tools. I bought a couple of things, got a free lunch, but didn't find any swag. This Sat. 4/11 is the last day.
  17. Job satisfaction has a big impact on your everyday stress level. I think it's great that Hilti held family days, it's nice to involve your family in such a huge part of your life. We all spend a lot of time at work.
  18. I heard on the radio on the way to work that HD is calling it their spring black Friday. I didn't know they did that, but looks like some good deals.
  19. Lots of tools in the newest HD add starting today 4/9/15. One of the notable items is the Husky mobile work station that the guys just did a video on. At least it looks to be the same. Deals from Dewalt, Milwaukee, Ryobi, Ridgid, and many more. John
  20. I was reading Fortune 100 and saw that Hiliti made the top 100 places to work at #89. I'm impressed that a tool company made the list.
  21. I saw this and thought it would make a great bowhunting range finder with inclinemeter on it.
  22. I missed out on this one. I was looking the other day at getting something for a car bag. Let's see some pics of the new bags loaded up.
  23. I just recently replaced my 10+ year old cordless drill with a combo kit. The first couple of projects that I did, I had a drill bit chucked up in the drill and the driver ready to drive the lag bolts, I can't believe I lived without them until now. Having both tools ready saved a ton of wasted time changing out the bits. Tool feel in the hand is so subjective, it's like handguns, one may fit me perfectly and I can hit a nat at 20 feet, then I pick up another brand gun with the same caliber and trigger and can't hit the broad side of a barn with it. Go to the store and get the tools into your hand and see how the feel to you. Good luck and have fund with your research.
  24. Welcome to the forum, that does look interesting. From what I've been told by the "Pros" at the Stihl dealer, only buy enough string to get you through one season. The say that it does have a shelf life and that if it's old, it does not unwind as easily and tends to be more troublesome.
