  1. Welcome to the forum. I just picked one up tonight from HD so I'll find out the answers to your questions in the near future.
  2. New technology sure makes this look attractive. To bad I don't have a use for it, I love gadgets that can serve as tools.
  3. We do have an Acme local, so I went into HD today and it took some talking but they honored the 10% discount. The kicker was, they had to order it online at the store for delivery to the store. So I won't get the saw and stand until next week, but I don't need to for about a month anyway. Thanks for the suggestion MM. John
  4. Thanks for posting the review, I only have the coiled version that came with the compressor and it's always getting kinked up. John
  5. Good point, I might try that. I can print out the coupon and see if they will. Worse they can do is say no.
  6. Thanks for the welcome. I haven't gotten a miter saw yet, but have been looking and will most likely go this route before the promo is over. I just received a 10% off form Acme tools for signing up for their web notices, so that might be the ticket for me. If they have the free stand offer. John
  7. I hope this isn't considered a double post. I replied in the Power Tools about this offer, but wanted to share here in case others hadn't seen it. The Home Depot and Lowes has the DeWalt miter saw + free stand offer going on. I checked Lowes and their offer ended the end of March, HD appears to be until April. sorry newbie here, don't know how to rotate on post
  8. FYI - I was in the Home Depot today at lunch and they have the free DeWalt miter stand deal with purchase of a DeWalt miter saw. The stand appears to be the DWX723.
  9. I haven't been in the tool buying mode for several years and was wondering when the next round of so called discounts would happen. I'm guessing Father's day, but that's just a guess. I've been reading that black Friday was a big discount day as well, but that's a ways off. I've been reading the miter saw buying threads and I'm in the market for a sliding miter saw so I'm keeping my eye for bargains. John
  10. Wonder if it comes in a King Ranch version?
  11. It's awesome to have a wife that supports you. I'm very lucky that way myself. I got my wife involved in shooting sports and we cannot go to a gun show without her trying to buy every gun she likes the looks of and wants to try. She's also supportive of my new found tool joy, she continues to give me support for what ever tool I want. Of course it involves projects she wants done, but that's great too. Good for you.
  12. Easy to see it's well thought out. Nice setup.
  13. Nice set up, looks like you have plenty of room for materials. How has the tough box with drawers holding up?
  14. Something to consider, I have the dcs380, (it's pretty new and I've not used it a lot so keep that in mind). And, I have not used the dcs387. One of the spec differences that I noticed is the blade shoe is extendable on the dcs380 and it's fixed on the dcs387. Like I mentioned I haven't used this feature a lot on this saw, but I used it quite a bit on my Porter Cable TigerSaw and think I would miss it on the cordless when using longer blades in tough metal applications.
  15. Any concerns about the overall weight being too much for the top handle?

    Belt Hook

Great story, I will insert 11a to fill in an update. 11a- Moments before departure from the wonderful city of Shanghai, the aforementioned part that was destined for the East coast city of Portsmouth NH, was mysteriously diverted to the city of Angels and the mountain of containers that are stacking up off shore due to the decaying infrastructure of the Port of LA. The only possible and plausible solution to this entire situation is to drink more beer and steel the handle off of the kids toy box, because everyone knows that the kids never put their toys away and have absolutely no need for a handle on that damn thing.
  17. My stick welding still looks like a duck walked across the project and left a load. Not too smooth.

    Belt Hook

Does anyone know where to purchase the belt hooks that attach to cordless tools? Thanks
  19. That's a lot of holes...... I made a sand sieve from a feed scope and thought I would never get all the holes drilled. Good job, looks great.
  20. I noticed the Acme tools store locally has a bin full of old tools they took in on trade, so the program must still be active.
  21. Well I took that bait hook, line and sinker! I bought a DS250, DS300 and the carrier. I spent all day trying to figure you how to pack my drill, driver, charger and batteries into the DS300. I settled on putting some of they cups from the DS250 for screws and fasteners in the bottom along with the charger, then a 1/4" sheet of plywood flat as a divider, then a couple of small plastic boxes with dividers for bits, then another piece of plywood with the drill and driver on top of that. I will try to get some pictures uploaded when I find time to figure out how. John
  22. Well, I just spent a bunch of money on the DeWalt tough box system, so the money for the screwdriver is gone for a while.
  23. I saw his review good stuff. It's on a clearance shelf at the store so I might wait to see if they come down on it. Thanks.
  24. Does anyone have any long term usage on the 8v max gyroscopic screwdriver? I was in a local store the other day and they had the DCF680N2 for $79 and thought about picking one up for use some diy projects etc. Just curious if anyone has one that they've used consistently for a while now. Thanks John
  25. Thanks everyone for the welcome. The wife went back to Lowes and did the exchange the 4 ah battery for the recipe saw. Thanks for the feedback dwain, I'm a home users and won't use it a ton, so I'm not too concerned about the vibrations. Plus if my wife wants to use it to prune and cut firewood, I happy to get her interested in using the tools. John
