  1. I use the crap out of mine and love it with one exception, since it was new the chuck is too loose and will eject the bit quite easily.
  2. Lived here since January 2007. 1 hurricane, and it was a catagory 1. Thunderstorms are wayyy worse than that was, we drove out and ate breakfast as the eye was passing back over. It was a joke. Meanwhile, you probably suffer 5 months out of the year in the cold...every year. Just saying.
  3. Not headed down to the Keys are you?
  4. No need to visit his profile, it's right here: <---

I believe I unintentionally subconsciously forget one important item on my list so I always have a reason to go back.
  6. Glad I'm not in the market for those first units, lol.
  7. Clearly Hitatchi, since it's listed as his favorite power tool.
  8. Fishing capital of the world my man. http://www.fla-keys.com/islamorada/fishing.cfm
  9. You're living in the wrong place then, lol. This is my back yard. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_RJEKjFfB8XNWI1WVg4LTh5QUk/view?usp=sharing

I read the thread title as Home Depot Attention Deficit Disorder, and I was like hey they named that condition I have...
  11. You don't, you just move here and work. The market here is perfect for what we do because everyone down here is "Key's Diseased", AKA drunk and lazy. In a year I have never looked for a job to work on, word of mouth will carry you far.
  12. I'm self employed. Not that it would matter what I do as I just really don't like working for other people, I did it for as long as I had to and busted out about a year ago at the age of 25. I do a grand mix of maintenance, construction, and renovation in both residential and commercial. I also dabble in property management from a few different Realtor agencies in the Florida Keys. It's hot in the summer but I live and work in paradise, and I plan to keep it that way for a long long time. Favorite tool would probably go to my DWS780 at this point.
  13. I tend to take care of my stuff these days but yea, if you're on a job where your peers like to borrow your things it's a heavy risk, I'm a solo act now so I can control that risk. On the flip side my only issue I've had with the worms, specifically the Skil I've always bought, is that they're so heavy they bend their own base plates when they take a fall. Other than that pretty much indestructable. I even used mine to cut expansion joints in concrete for a few months. I also got tennis elbow, lol.
  14. Ever seen the movie A Knights Tale? This reminds me of the scene where he gets the new advanced armor that's thin and everyone is laughing at him until he walks up and mounts a horse with no effort, then everyone stops laughing. The rest of the guys it takes 5 men and a crane. To each their own I guess, but I doubt 5-10 years from now anyone will still be using wormdrives on the job. Cordless will replace nearly everything on the market with advances in battery and motor tech that are going on right now for the few things that demand a cord that are left. It's already plenty good enough for me and the new brushless version isn't even out yet.
  15. I just can't grasp the desire to awkwardly look over my right shoulder to visualize the blade and cut. It's what I would consider a left handed saw, because to even use one I actually have to use my left hand to keep myself sane, which inevitably drives me insane because I'm not as skilled left handed, though I'm a bit more ambidextrous than most. Blade to the left is natural for my brain, and I can't really imagine how someone would think otherwise. Even watching someone else contort themselves to use one makes me scratch my head in wonder.
  16. The Smart Cart is back in stock at HD, crisis adverted.
  17. So hog is a toolless socket removal like most common sockets?
  18. I think you're the only one. I HATE it.
  19. Looks good. Detent or Anvil? Can't find a decent explanation of which is better for what.
  20. I'm a wormdrive kind of guy too. Or I was...now I do rip's with my new 20v Dewalt, and I haven't looked back. Probably 1/4 of the weight. Doesn't have the torque but it cuts fine for 2x material, even handles PT. Only thing I won't do with it is rip 4x4 PT, and I don't exactly do that often. Had a guy laugh at me on a job I was working on for ripping thick T111 with it. He left the job that day to go to home depot to buy his own.
  21. Makita makes good tools, but I find them really uncomfortable to use their drills, what I've tried. I liked their compact drill/driver set I used once but everything else feels really awkward in my hand. Where they've gone very right is the side by side battery tools that operate at 36v. As a contractor that makes my Dewalt sweet spot twitch with envy sometimes. Also charge time...damn they charge fast, really....REALLY fast. The 5.0Ah charges in 45min...literally less than half the time it takes the Dewalt to do the same. I'd have half the number of batteries for the same tools with Makita. Food for thought.
  22. Will this level have a bevel on the edge like most decent levels these days or will it be a good scriber? Hard to tell from the pictures.
  23. I'm in the market. I was thinking about going cheap since my operation is mobile, everything is subject to more drops, impacts, and thrashing than most tools should have to endure. Then I got to looking at Empire's and I loved them, then used a buddy's and the beveled edge drove me INSANE. Tested another buddy's Johnson set (after a good number of dick jokes) and I liked it, but seemed a little too light for my taste. Fears of it twisting too much at the longer lengths. Saw they have box beam too, but they're expensive as well. Ugh.
