  1. Milwaukee makes great cordless saws. I don't have experience with the one pictured here, but I think I remember Eric saying that it was his favorite for a long time. If your looking for an upgrade, you might consider the M18 FUEL 2730-20 6-1/2" Circular Saw ( It'll run you about $200 for the bare tool ). An upgrade from the 2730 is the M18 FUEL 2731 7-1/4" Circ Saw ( about $230 for the bare tool ). The 2731-20 is gonna be my next Milwaukee tool purchase. I just bought the M12 FUEL 2530-20 5-3/8" Circular saw ($150 for the bare tool) for small jobs around the shop and to leave in my car. The 2530 has plenty of power, enough to get through solid oak. It breezes through 2x stock and plywood. Some thing's to consider is that 6-1/2" circular blades are slightly more expensive and less common than 7-1/4" circular saw blades. 5-3/8" circular saw blades are the rarest of the bunch. Of course, If your buying blades online, then it's not really a problem. Here's the little M12 beast i've been using for little over a week:
  2. Congrats Toronto! I had no idea that they had a cordless chainsaw, that thing looks awesome. Thank you very much for sharing this with the TIA Crew!

  5. Welcome to the crew Austin! I'm happy that you know what you want to do at your age. Wish I entered a trade instead of partying in college and getting myself into debt lol Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  6. I've got some Milwaukee screw drivers, price wasn't bad. They feel really nice but haven't done any work with high voltage with them yet. Happy to have them though Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk

  8. Your team DeWalt now, but this place has a nack for straying people to the dark (red) side [emoji12] Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  9. Like most folks here I agree that the chat function sucks. I can't type well on my phone and comments get lost in the nether. It'd be cool if we could all just talk or something. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  10. Awesome idea Ricky. I just watch whenever I get a chance. It was pretty cool to see him down at the docks the other day. I just watched him change out a motor on the Frankenedger! <---Thanks to Goat for that name haha
  11. Milwaukee is innovating on a different level. They've even added new colors to the Inkzall! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  12. Hell yeah, I'd pull over too, lol. I would have filmed the whole thing with a goofy giggle the entire time. I kinda had a similar incident putting up some signs on a wall. It was just me and another guy, we couldn't bring the picker close cause there was a steep hill. We stretched out too far and the wheels started lifting off the ground. Kinda scary. Ended up ditching the picker and setting up some scaffolding instead. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  13. Overanalyze that's a sweet shop my friend!
  14. Yeah that's true. You'd end up spending around a $1000 all together but you would end up a very nice planer that would last a very long time. If you bought a Powermatic, you'd probably be spending around $3000 with no helical cutter head. But cutter head shmutter head, the 735 is still a nice planer on its own. I've never used the Rigid, but I've heard great things about it.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  15. Hahahahaha....glad your all alright! Wish I was there to witness the hilarity

  17. Maybe you could buy some generic case and make custom inserts using Kaizen Foam from FastCap. just a suggestion but I hope you find what your looking for Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  18. I've used two DeWalt's but the 735 is a great one. I believe they sell helical cutter heads that leave a smoother finish, run more quite, leave less tear out on tricky grain and they last a very long time. Plus once they get dull, you just turn the cutter heads to a new face, no sharpening until the fourth turn. But if you have the dough, get a Powermatic of course Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  19. [emoji12] lol...I think they're talking about bench planersSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  20. Wow two guys in the trade with the same name! Lol. Thank you both for sharing your experiences. When January comes around, I'm gonna send in my application for the apprenticeship program. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  21. Congrats man! Did they also come with batteries?Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G870A using Tapatalk
  22. I was in a similar boat not too long ago. I had some DeWalt 20V drills but decided to go with Milwaukee as a battery platform. I mostly work in a shop, doing woodworking type projects, but often I'll get called to help with a renovation/addition and for this reason is why I went with Milwaukee. If your only doing woodworking projects or stuff out of the garage, you could do well with all the big names like DeWalt, Milwaukee, Ryobi, Rigid, Makita, Bosch. If your trying to watch your budget, I would go with Ryobi. They have a ton of tools on their battery platform including a cordless miter saw. Sure they may not be the best tools in the world but they get the job done. Next in line would be Rigid in my opinion. And a step up from that would be DeWalt. My suggested battery platform for a home diyer, woodworker, person working out of a garage/shop: 1.) Ryobi - Very budget friendly and easy to get / Not the greatest of tools but still very good! Perfect for any woodworker or diyer because you are probably relying more on corded tools anyway like your jointer, planer, table saw, band saw, router table, drill press. 2.) Rigid 3.) DeWalt 4.) Bosch 5.) Makita 6.) Milwaukee - My favorite of the cordless platforms (I'll edit this later on with my opinions on the other brands)
  23. you lucky europeans! haha. I seem to remember seeing a video of someone buying a tstak with 2 drills. It looked like the TStak he had came with a molded plastic insert that fit the tools. I haven't seen anything like this in the US though. The only thing I've seen here in the US are the foam inserts that you can customize yourself. I'm sure KWC or Gator888 will chime in and offer better advice
  24. Nice tool collection you've got there. I
