  1. Don't forget about the Flashlight as well, lol.
  2. Hahaha...a couple other guys mentioned that as well, lol. I'm kind of worried. If I get the job, people are gonna see "Shoplifter" on my resume, haha. "Okay let's take a look at your resume here...Clerk, mmmkay...Assistant, I see...Project Manager, splendid...and Shoplifter. I'm sorry sir, ummm...we have no need for your talents at this moment....ummm thank you" "It say's SHIPFITTER! not SHOPLIFTER!!!" hahaha...Ahhh maybe it's only funny in my own head. I do have a quick shoplifting story though ( Some might consider this as a tip ): My Dad was carpenter his whole life. I remember as a child always going with him to Lowe's or Home Depot. He would pick up some sheets of plywood and hide some saw blades in the stack. The clerk would often just scan the ends of the boards without checking all the goodies in between. This was a long time ago and I'm sure big box stores have gotten privy to this ever since.
  3. Hey BigMikeZ, I seen that same kit yesterday as well. I hope DeWalt does more of these kits that come boxed with either TStak or Tough system containers.
  4. If I had only one cordless tool line to choose from, all my tools would be Milwaukee Fuel. But every brand has products that excel in one area and fall short in others. This erks the heck out of the ocd person in me, wanting everything to be one color and one standard, but It's hard not to own a bunch of different brands and tools. Even when it comes to cordless tools.
  5. If you can afford it, and if you see yourself buying more cordless tools in the future, I would go with the Milwaukee 2720-21 M18 Fuel Sawzall. Like Chris already mentioned, It has power on par with most corded saws. The ability to just pick up a tool and go is nice. I need to mention though that I don't own that Recip Saw, I have a corded DeWalt that has never let me down for over 10 years. Only problem that I had with my corded tools are the cords being cut or frayed, but these can be easily repaired. Here's a link to the Milwaukee: http://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-2720-21-SAWZALL-Reciprocating-Battery/dp/B00FSG0SU8
  6. That's awesome Eddiegoodfellar! I've never heard of a refrigeration mechanic. That sounds like a cool job, no pun intended. I've always enjoyed taking things apart and figuring out how things tick. I'm gonna look into your job and see if it's something I'd be interested in doing for a living. Have a good day
  7. Yeah I know Detroit took a big hit as well in the 80's. Car companies were putting out crap cars, hiring crooks. Wasn't until the industry got schooled by the Japanese that thing's turned around. My favorite cars are American made in the 60's
  8. Wow the Makita is $600? That's way too much for a cordless miter in my opinion. I don't have any Ryobi tools at the moment but I am considering buying the 6-Tool Combo Kit (2 Batteries and Charger), the fan, the light and the Cordless Miter Combo (1 Battery and Charger). All these tools can be had for about $540 from HD.
  9. looking very nice Chris! That looks like a solid workbench. Are you gonna add a bench vise or an end vise?
  10. Regopit - I see you know some Hawaiian, or did you learn that from Lilo and Stitch? lol Dwain - Thank you! NERemodeling - Thank you! No worries about the lateness
  11. Man I'm so jealous! What an awesome set of DeWalt tools you got there, I'd be a happier man! lol
  12. Hey Poisonfangs85, sorry for the late reply, I just saw this. I'm not an Electrician, but I do simple tasks like putting in light fixtures, switches, and outlets. I've never bought a set of screwdrivers before, I've always used whatever was laying around the shop. Having said that, I really like these screwdrivers. I've noticed the tips really grab screws and have a nice fit. I bought these at HD for about $30. I wish I looked better, they have a similar kit that comes with and ECX screwdriver. The one I bought came with a #1 and a #2 Robertson screwdriver instead. But I bought the insulated screwdriver that came with an ECX to cover my bases. All and all, awesome set. I can't complain because I'd be comparing them to a mix match of who knows what screw drivers.
  13. Haha its kinda hilarious if you substitute "Shoplifter" for "Shipfitter" lol.
  14. Been trying to figure out how to attach thumbnails to posts. Thanks for the help NERemodeling. Let's see if this works:
  15. Nice set of tools DR99 and Milwaukeenut! I'm just getting started on mine
  16. Hopefully I'll past the test. I live in Hawaii so I would be working in Pearl Harbor, on some very large ships and submarines. I think they do a ton of metal work and welding.
  17. I'm looking to switch jobs soon and there is an apprenticeship program opening up early next year. They have a couple of trades that I'm pretty interested in: Machinist, Electrician and a Shipfitter. I know what a Machinist and Electrician does but I'm a bit curious about becoming a Shipfitter. Are there any Shipfitter's in this forum? What type of work do you do and any tips or advice on what tools I should buy and get familiar with?
  18. I second Fazzman with his Marples Chisels suggestion. Here's an amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Marples-M444-SB6-6-Piece-Chisel/dp/B0000224EV They were recommended by Finewoodworking and The Wood Whisperer as a good set of starter chisels. Of course these are more geared to furniture and cabinet making tasks, and are probably not well suited for general construction.
  19. Overanalyze, love that name. I tend to do the same thing lol. No I don't know DirtyWhiteBoy. This is the only tool forum that I know of. The only other forums I go are for woodworking and instrument building stuff. I live in Ewa Beach, it's very hot and dry but that's what the ocean's for right? lol. I see your from Ohio! Go Buckeye's! My wife is from Ohio and a huge Buckeye fan
  20. Regopit, it was great seeing you on YouTube. I was cracking up when they were talking about how young you are, haha. Working for a Gas Company in Hawaii is a pretty good deal. The large industrial companies are located on a part of Oahu that is isolated from the masses. That mean's no traffic going to or coming from work. It's not well known, but Oahu has the 1st or 2nd worst traffic in the nation. A few weeks ago, a machine broke down on the freeway, causing a huge traffic jam. It took me 5 hours to drive 23 miles.
  21. Yup I hear you man. I think we all got the case of "GAS" or "Gear Acquisition Syndrome"
  22. I can't wait to get home and watch these vid's. I'll drop in again later. Peace out!
