  1. I have a Stanley fat max pair from lowes but they broke somewhat. The one cutting edge bent outward. The first 1/4" of the blades works fine but after that it won't cut anything. Klien makes some really good ones an that's who I recommend.
  2. I just ordered a Millwaukee mid tourque impact wrench kit. Home Depot has the tool/2 battery/charger/case kit plus a free battery on special buy for 399. Also ordered a few metal cutting blades. Can't wait for them to arrive.
  3. I know we all complain about harbor freight but I have to give a compliment. There was a true act of kindness today, by a assistant manager. Me an one other person stopped there to buy a bunch of gloves an an 3 garden tool sets. The use is tax exempt so as the buyer was filling out a tax exempt form we an the assistant manager got to talking. She found out the use was for a group foster home. The assistant manager paused. She went to the back, cashier was still waiting for form to be filled out) an came back with her credit card. She spent almost 100 bucks of her own money. She didn't have to do such, no one asked her to. We don't expect handouts like this. It's so good to see acts of kindness. I just had to share that.
  4. My first pick would be diablo. There good quality at a reasonable price. My little woodworker friend just got this Irwin set for his 10" miter saw. I can't personally recommend them from expierence but maybe someone can. https://www.lowes.com/pd/IRWIN-Marathon-Circular-Saw-Blade-Set/1000142875 I picked up a dewalt combo pack of 2 different 12" blades for like 30 bucks on Black Friday. One is a finish blade ones a rougher blade. They work great. I still have them but don't use my woodworking tools much. https://www.lowes.com/pd/DEWALT-12-in-Circular-Saw-Blade-Set/1209495
  5. Mine arrived yesterday. Cant wait to get home from work today to try her out. thanks again for the heads up jimbo.
  6. You do great work, I loved the pics. I totally get not posting. My employer is pretty strict on pictures. Customer projects pics are not allowed at all. Well sites can't be photographed either. They let you take pictures of your own welds an tools, as long as you watch the background. Only pics I have taken are of my personal tools, but don't share them, I don't like the policy cause it would make some cool pics. ultimately I understand why the policy is in place.
  7. Thanks for the heads up Just ordered it from hd. My dad was gonna swing by hd and get the trimmer kit this weekend. We essentially got the blower for free. I mean 320 with tax for all of it isn't bad. Its expected delivery date isn't till the 9th those, i can't wait.
  8. Thanks guys, never looked at it that way. We ended up getting the combo with the 9.0 battery.
  9. How do the older 3 amp an 5 amp batteries work in comparison to the new Millwakee 9.0 ones. I know it's 1/3 the amp hour but can someone help me understand how much different runtime an performance wise. My dad is gonna buy either the trimmer or trimmer kit. I already have almost 20 batteries for the m18 system. I don't have any 9.0 batteries. We will probably end up getting the kit just so I can get a 9.0 battery but is it really needed?
  10. I absolutley love Tia. The different views an expierence we have really make this site great. All the great tools are fun to look at t as well. I often wonder how many of the tools actually get use thoe? I mean I know my tools after a month don't look new. Some would say I beat my tools up, I say I just don't baby them. Working out in the field they get dirty. When they get muddy they just get thrown back in the truck. Every so often I clean them up but am not scared to get them dirty. I sometimes feel bad when you pay for a tool but it looks like garbage the next day. At the same time as much as I use mine there impossible to keep clean. As long as we enjoy our tools that's what matters. I was just curious what kind of user you are?
  11. A pruning blade would be ideal for this task. Pruning blades are a lot quicker. Much more aggressive cut. Ime pretty sure the kerf is thinner, but not sure. The Millwakee axe blades are great for there purpose. The blade shown is a avanti pro demolition blade. Its not necisarly for pruning but works. Bought them on clearance at homedepot. Not my first choice for blades but the price was next to nothing.
  12. I have always looked at flap disks as consumables. When they wear down I grab a new one.
  13. Who here uses a sawzaw for light tree cutting. I do all the time. I have a nice Stihl saw but for small stuff the fuel is quicker an easier. I also think it's a lot safer. The branches got to about 2 or maybe 3 inches at the biggest point.
  14. not sure about the whole hawg but I know millwakee has hard cases for there portable bandsaws. Both my corded an cordless ones have plastic hard cases.
  15. Lol I know it was a major issue. After fixing the pipe they didn't make much money on that house. That said they buy houses cheap sometimes unseen. They do good on some but others end up like that one.
  16. A friend of mine who flips houses sent me a picture a while back. Basically they took a basketball cut it in half an put a few band clamps around it to fix the cast iron pipe. They then did a built in shelf in the closet to hide it.
  17. Most of the time I work in the shop so I just punch in an out. If I am out at a wellsite I am paid from time I leave shop to time I return to shop. Most of the wellsites require overnight travel. I get paid a reduced rate for all time punched in. I then get paid normal rate for working hours. I have to fill out a form saying when I leave hotel along with travel time an site time. basically all time is accounted for. All travel expenses are paid up to a certain amount. Some guys have company credit cards an some have cash fronted to them to either return or return the change with receipts. I myself can afford to pay on personal card an get reimbursed later. Honesty an accountability are huge at my company. At first they asked a few times to send pics via phone of the next mile marker or hotel parking lot with trucks clock or whatever. They haven't done that in a while. Some trucks have gps. They could also track my company cell. I really don't care what they do cause I wouldn't lie about were or what I was doing. Of course ime sure theres here's a bunch of legality for hours worked. Then every company has its polices.
  18. I am looking for ideas for tool storage in the backseat of my pickup. Any ideas are welcome an appreciated. I've had some crazy ideas so ile consider anything. My goal is to use half the backseat for hand tools an supplies. The other half will be set up for larger ietems such as my wire feeders, plasma cutter, chop saw, etc. A small separated space for groceries or whatever would be nice, but can always go in front. To fully utilize the full width I am thinking I need make or buy a drawer of some sort. It doesnt matter if it ends up blocking rear window. Thankfully I have full access to a fabrication shop. However I don't want to take advantage of that privilege. Goal is to cut an bend whatever parts needed then finish at home. There is no dedicated budget or timeline. The cheaper an sooner the better. At the same time I want it to work efficiently an built well.
  19. I fully support all emergency services personal but can't help question some decisions higher up. These men an women are putting themselves at risk to help us. Don't they deserve proper Equipment? I know awd is more expensive but lives are at stake. That's just my two cents
  20. pretty much. We take care of our tools but a day in the patch is equal to a year in someones garage.
  21. Didn't Lenox recently come out with a similar blade?
  22. I got a voicemail followed by a email this afternoon. Due to technical error they canceled both orders. I get why but it would of been cool if they didn't. I did get two 25 dollar gift cards for the inconvience.
  23. A friend told me of this deal, earlier today. I placed two orders totalling 35. It is at woodcardts website I called woodcraft store an he said its a system glitch but they stand by website price online only.
  24. I totally forgot, that was a while ago. How are they doing?
  25. What do you guys do with your old tools? I am always upgrading an left with the old ones. I also somehow accumulate tools. Usually if I hear someone wants/needs one I give it to them. My used Bosch 12 volt stuff went to theultimatehic. I had some other stuff I no longer needed so tossed in the box. I have literally two boxs of extra screwdrivers so gave some to a neighbor kid. For the hassle an time it takes I rarely sell stuff. Ten bucks isn't worth ten lowball offers 5 of which are from questionable people. If it's something big it's worth the hassle but the small stuff I just "pay it forward"
