  1. Th. on Amazon prime day, a day which should have been better than Black Friday for deal shoppers, came across as a big ol pile of meh for power tools. Since I was online anyway, I decided to go through and find the best deal on tools that I don't have but have batteries for. The best option was a Bosch 12 screwdriver PS21B being sold for $35. I think it was used or new from a two piece kit. I thought, why not. $35 for a tool that I could use from a brand that makes quality stuff. What arrived this morning was a PS22. That's right, the brushless model of the same tool. And it was flawless. Then I went to HD for some lag screws and a lightbulb. I decided to price check the Milwaukee chest I have been lusting after since they came out. And sure enough it was discounted to $199 ($100 off) and I had a $20 coupon that was going to expire tonight. I feel like I should have bought a lottery ticket on my way home.
  2. The chest dropped at my HD today (TX). Snagged one. Bottom still full price.
  3. its a bad design. Lots of poorly used space and hard to stack. They already dropped the price from $30 to $20 in my area.
  4. Some stores get a little touchy when you use the terminals. If you are in austinthecity, we are shopping the same stores. The only computer I've been bugged at is the mopac at braker location. But I also don't linger on them or try to use them when contractors are trying to compile bit orders.
  5. The online registration is easy now. I've used the warranty for a battery. I walked into the rental area with my dead battery and the kit I bought it with, they called to verify registration while I filled out paperwork. I left the battery and got one in the mail the following week. I then called the warranty department to register my new battery.
  6. Use the price check. Type the brand. Refine results. Click clearance. Click return to results.
  7. https://ridgid.com/hyperdrive/ New Nailers. Looks good.
  8. If you check your local home depot, you may be able to find a milwaukee m12 set of screwdriver and impact driver for $79. They were recently on clearance and may be gone by now. Best of both worlds. The m12 batteries seem to last forever. The set comes with two batteries and a charger so you could charge one while working the other. Ridgid also makes an drill and impact driver drill 12v set ($149) with Lifetime Service Agreement you could get battery replacement for free. They also sell the drill without the impact driver and two batteries for around $79. You could get a bit adapter for the drill and swap out 1/4" hex bits at will. Bosch also has great 12v options. I think they have a screwdriver with 1/4" chuck ($99), but their impact driver ($129) is really compact and does serious work. Bosch tools are very well made (not that ridgid and milwaukee aren't). For both and two batteries they run about $150 I guess what I'm saying is that each major tool brand makes something that will do what you are looking for. If Compact is most important, I'd go Bosch impact driver. It is really short (front to back), a variable speed trigger and has three lights around the chuck. If you can get one in a set with a screwdriver, you'd be set for delicate or bigger jobs.
  9. Is it the cordless charging compatible battery and the light lets you know if it is situated on the charger correctly?
  10. Home Depot. As it turns out this kit isn't on the poster but will take the discount on the cashiers promotion sheet. Some people have been denied. I got it, but when I got home to 5 drills and 4 impact drivers I had buyers remorse and took it back.
  11. sweet. this'll be better than any christmas I have ever had.... I'd be pinching myself after every delivery.
  12. Here is a video comparing a lot of the radio options. After watching this and about 10 other reviews it seems the Milwaukee and Bosch radios have the best sound with Bosch having a big advantage that the speaker doesn't face forward (up instead) so you don't have to stand in front of it for good sound. I opted for Ridgids latest iteration. It has been updated since the last TIA review but they gave the last one high marks. It was competitive in sound volume without distortion. It also has phone storage, it's own power cable and looks indestructible. It was similar in price to Milwaukees radio that doesn't also charge and about half the price of the Milwaukee that charges batteries. It was also half the price of the Bosch. http://youtu.be/cMtudvNoq0E
  13. Milwaukee has a tool one, but I tell you what may be better is to get a jansport and add on a patch with whatever brand you like
  14. I think someone posted elsewhere that the white line was marketed to the homeowner, DIY weekender and the teal green line was directed at professionals. For example, the white 18v line had smaller batteries (1.5 ah vs 2 or 3ah found in teal kits) and maybe fewer features than their teal counterpart. The differences weren't much. I owned the 18v white drill and I driver and they were more powerful than anything I had owned at that time. They were very comfortable and durable. When I started shopping for 12v tools, I was going to get the makita white as they were the least expensive between bosch, makita, dewalt, and milwaukee. The marketing and price point almost worked.
  15. That's a lot better result than my first couple of attempts. Bravo
  16. I think the battery redesign serves two purposes: a) one better grip and balance, and shed the association with white 12v lineup (which doesn't have a lot of real estate on the battery for a meter) which didn't perform well head to head with a lot of the 12v tools out there. I would rather have seen a battery compatible with the other line, but whatever. It seems like it would have been easier to put an xc type battery with a meter on the back of it. The decision to go brushed as they introduce the line makes sense to me since the brushless tech does cost more and compact tools are geared first toward the cost saving crowd. Once their 18v brushless gain marketshare, the 12v brushless won't be far behind and all those that adopted the new battery system will replace their 2 year old tools with brand new brushless models. I am not in the market for 12v tools any time soon so I'm good.
  17. These got down to $19 in store as they were getting phased out. Pretty good vacuum. I don't think the run time is long but if you are just cleaning up a small worksite it'll do.
  18. same set at cpo is 20% off +6.99 shipping.
  19. Been in the same league for close to 12 years. 3 time champion.
  20. The 2697-22 set has been on clearance for $229 (usually 299) in a couple stores near me. Drill and impact driver with two m18 batteries.
