  1. Makita XT260 Drill IDriver + free tool $189. Online price is $229, but rang up in store $189. The free extra tool or battery deal is good until August. Drill Driver 2 3ah batteries Plus one of Job site radio Circ saw Angle grinder/ cut off tool Recip saw 3aH battery
  2. Makita mac700. Perfect for what you're talking about
  3. Ridgid has a new fan coming out with their gen5x lineup. runs battery or extension cord (no converter needed) and evidently they are available in some regions and not others at this time. I checked zip codes for central Texas (one of the hotter states) and it isn't available, but checked new jersey and washington state and sure enough they are on the shelves. C'mon Ridgid, I need a fan in my garage like yesterday. http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-GEN5X-18-Volt-Hybrid-Fan-Tool-Only-R860720B/205907844
  4. I like finding things like this and giving them as gifts. My brother in law had some cordless drill that couldn't keep a charge, so I gifted him a hitachi 12 drill and impact driver combo that I got for under $50 from Lowes. (usually $149) I gifted a dewalt mechanics tool set that was usually $200 that I got for closer to $65 from Sears to a friend of mine as a housewarming gift.
  5. Actually, if the set came with an impact driver, two batteries and this set of screwdrivers for $79, I probably would have bought one for myself
  6. I maintain an Amazon wish list for things I price watch. In addition to the socket ready impact driver listed earlier I also have: Bosch 12v right angle driver Bosch 12v radio And pretty much any Bosch 12v tool you can think of on the list other than the drill and impact driver. But I also have Milwaukee radios, Bosch 18v radio, some Milwaukee m18 and Makita 18v tools and a lot of bit sets (the Makita impact gold bit and socket set is worth every penny) with no plans to buy any of them myself. I don't need any of them but they are on the list. My problem is if I don't have a list of things I like available for family to reference come the holidays, someone may gift me stuff I'd never use.
  7. Try it. It'll surprise you. If not, sell it.
  8. I think they were trying to hit a price point ($99) and run through an overproduction of screwdrivers. The drill and I driver is still sitting at $129 I think. That said, my buddy bought it and likes the screwdriver well enough.
  9. check the website. It's probably the 3ah batteries but it's two of them.
  10. That was the Father's Day special but for $99 which was a pretty good deal. Guess it was a temporary item. @$79 it's a great deal.
  11. An adapter pack would be a good idea. The tools surely outlive the batteries and as much as we like the current systems, 15-20 years from now we may wish we had an adapter.
  12. What's wrong with HD? They have the two pack of xc batteries for $79. There is someone on Amazon selling non Milwaukee m12 batteries I think. Flylinktech

I found them, but doesn't look like a lot of new content. There a lot of great DIY projects and ideas. I have found a lot of things I'd like to do but haven't done one yet.
  14. I think the best warranty I have found is Ridgid. I am aware that people had problems in the past, but their Lifetime Service Agreement seems hard to beat. It may be marketing, but I know I had to replace a battery and it was replaced in about a week. The online registration was pretty easy. When the battery died I took it into home depot, and their rental counter had me fill out the paperwork while they called it in. A week later, a battery was at my house. I appreciate the milwaukee warranty, and I own a few of their power tools, but my Ridgid sets will always be there.
  15. Perfect. I can swap out the attachment that came with my Milwaukee rotary tool with the ez lock.
  16. I just added an M18 drill to my m12 lineup. I thought it was a good opportunity to add some content here. I just realized this shot is hiding my m12Fuel hacksaw
  17. For people that are looking for an inexpensive way to start their Red addiction, they have 1/2" compact m18 drill/driver for $79. I have now seen it in two stores. I think they normally are $99. And they only come with one compact battery and the multi charger. But it's not a bad price. Model 2606-21ct One battery One drill One charger
  18. Very interesting. Never would have thought of that on my own.
