That is a really good deal on Ryobi, I haven't had luck with their batteries but if you have...jump on that deal!
  2. Two Cyber Monday items came in, from Amazon Warehouse. These two Knipex pieces cost me out of pocket $13 total! They were a little dirty when i took the picture but they look better after a wipe down with WD40.
  3. Wow, what a mess. Hopefully things turn around for the positive after this speed bump.

Damn it Jimbo, stop making me buy stuff. We're supposed to be making Kruton buy stuff!
  5. Any electrical meter buy a Fluke. If you're on a budget, buy a used Fluke(try pawn shops). I've tried other meters, they work but none compare well to a Fluke. It's worth the small investment and it will last and be accurate for as long as it is treated in the way it was intended, even with the occasional drop. If you look at how long you will use it and figure out how much it costs per day to use, they're dirt cheap.

It would sure look good next to those other Bosch tools you have. Also, if you add those tools to the cost of the saw you basically got everything for like 85% off! Justified purchase, you can thank me later. Subliminal message: Buy it, buy it, buy it!

    M18 fuel woes

When I received my M18 drill, the first thing I noticed is how straight and true it is, no wobble. I decided to test how good that is by taking the longest metal rod I had(16") and seeing if it wobbled...not even a hint of wobble. Sometimes some people are just unlucky with brands, I haven't experienced it in tools but I have with CCM hockey equipment. Anything I've ever bought that was CCM I destroyed waaay quicker than I should have.
  8. Those Ryobis are getting smaller and smaller.
  9. I did start an account after my post, not really for a potential giveaway but Dan and Eric crack me up(That Skilsaw video when they were reading the boxes, OMG hahaha). I wouldn't have entered this one anyway because I don't have a need for a nailer, I'd rather have someone that can use it have it.
  10. No problem, also, if you get the wrong item...as I just did today(I received a Husky ratchet instead of Gearwrench) try complaining via chat. I ended up with a full refund and a spare ratchet. Looks like someone scammed Amazon by buying a Husky ratchet and returning it to them in the Gearwrench packaging and I ended up with it...kinda sucks because I don't want the Husky but can't complain too hard when it was free. Yeah, I figured it was worth it, they don't even charge you until it ships so it's worth a shot. I ended up buying two so I could have one at work and one at home.
  11. Guess that means I need to get periscope! haha. Congratulations!
  12. Should have hourly rate for "If you had someone else try to fix it first" though I guess it doesn't work with woodworking. How old is that sign(based on rates)? haha
  13. Today is 15% off Amazon Warehouse deals. Please check condition, most of the stuff I get from warehouse deals is new but out of packaging. Just go here and search for whatever brand you like, if you're getting a lot of results you can limit price range or my favorite % off MSRP. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=sr_nr_n_9?fst=as%3Aoff&rh=n%3A10158976011%2Cn%3A228013%2Cp_8%3A2229036011%2Cn%3A!468240%2Cn%3A328182011&bbn=10158976011&ie=UTF8&qid=1443594271&rnid=10158976011 I already picked up a set of Knipex needle nose pliers with comfort grip, for $21. On KCTool they were over $40, on ebay they were around $25 but on Amazon I have credit card reward points so I only paid $6! Good luck gentlemen!
  14. First name, nickname, whatever...even if it is your user name, something a friend would call you. I'm a full believer in keeping anonymity online to protect yourself, so I definitely would NOT request full name for all to see...especially if you're like me with a unique last name. The thing that initiated this post was I saw a member refer to another member as a number from their username. That felt soo impersonal, though I know that wasn't the intent. I just felt as though that impersonal greeting didn't fit the tone of this forum, think it may also drive more users when they see everyone refering to each other by name/nickname...I've seen in on other forums, specifically cigar forums.
  15. I'm soo glad you share this stuff with us, you are truly an artisan. Great stuff as always.
  16. I believe that is the original purpose but I also use them as smooth-jawed needle nose pliers(If I have the space) because they're more sturdy with less of a gripping pinch point. Also in use mostly for electronics.
  17. This forum has one of my favorite things a forum has, comradery. Forum members here help each other and offer different opinions instead of arguing... but then we pretty much have to refer to everyone by their screen name. How about adding "Name" (first name) above "Location" under the avatar and post count? So when anyone posts, if we quote them we can refer to them by what they go by in day-to-day life instead of a relatively impersonal screenname. Just a thought. This is where I'm talking about for clarification:
  18. Mostly working with wire...but they can be used as non-marring(smooth jaw) needle nose pliers, like if you're working on jewelry.
  19. Glad to help! Not quite as good of a deal but looks like another pair is discounted. Knipex 30 31 160, long, round nose pliers for $14.16. It is $19.82 on eBay, $15.88 + shipping on jensputzier.com http://www.amazon.com/Knipex-3031160-Long-Pliers-Round/dp/B003RWS9DS/ref=sr_1_1?srs=2594943011&ie=UTF8&qid=1448796332&sr=8-1&keywords=Knipex+3031160
  20. I have an old Ryobi corded that I inherited that has always worked when I needed it...but I've never heard this question asked and not have Skilsaw win by a large margin, like Coca-cola versus RC Cola margin.
  21. I ended up getting some PB Swiss bits and screwdriver from toollady.com which had a 25% off sale, it basically paid for my shipping, I believe today is 20% off. Also bought a pair of Mechanix gloves which were $15 shipped for the M-pact 2($30-45 retail). Use SAVE15NOV to save an additional 15%: http://www.mechanix.com/sale That's only about $5 more expensive than the good mechanic gloves at HF.
  22. Definitely depends on the person asking. Most of my friends would buy me a new whatever if they wrencked my tool...but those guys I'd also be willing to help them fix whatever. Then there is one guy at my shop, buys mostly crappy tools and doesn't take care of them. If he needs to borrow something, I pay attention...but he is very respectful to other's tools, I think it's because he can't afford to replace them. Neighbors? Two of my neighbors I'd let them borrow whatever they want, anyone else is SOL. They should replace anything they wreck with the same or better model of the same maker. That's just how a decent human would handle that situation, accidents happen.
