  1. What about a hybrid tool? I would love to have a 40v 12" dual bevel sliding compund miter saw that could also be corded. That way you have the option of using battery power, if you are in an area where electricity is unavailible but also have the option of using mains power.

That's not a bad idea, or a table saw

  3. I just feel that the peeps at HD give more attention to there customers and really give some good advice if u ask them as to where on the other hand lowes is just ghost town when I walk in there it took me about 15-20 min for someone to come help me one time.

I was in HD last night and was probably approached by 5 different people if I needed help or anything.

  4. I've had online orders on deals disappear to only find the product stashed...though I haven't always found them. I've had online orders disappear, get charged for the item. Sometimes the online order gets cancelled but with no notification or reason. Ask for help locating something, look in computer and go to the aisle I was looking in...10 minutes later they get someone else, who does the same process, 10 mins later someone else...at this point I start wondering and find a display for hand tools myself in the lumber section or something where it does make sense. Complain to corporate about any issue and they tell me to contact the store manager because "it's not our problem." contact store manager and they basically tell me to screw off. BTW, these are from just THIS YEAR.

If Home Depot had a greeter that punched me in the face every time I walked in the front door, I'd still prefer Home Depot to Lowe's. I ONLY buy items at Lowe's if they are at least 50% off.

About a month ago I did have a little faith restored in Lowe's. I was looking at some sale items and noticed two employees messing with wrenches that were on sale. They pulled all of the remaining sets off the rack and opened them, started moving wrenches around. After a few mins one pulls out a cell phone and calls someone. They called the customer and explained that they didn't have a complete set left but they could offer a further discount on the item because one piece was missing. That's above and beyond in my book, that was the first time in over 10 years that I've seen anyone at Lowe's try to be helpful. We have several stores in our area, more than HD so it's not like one bad apple spoiling the bunch.

Kruton recently had that happen to him, they cancelled his order for the $40 Bosch power boxes, that's just bad customer service.

It depends for me sometimes I do better at lowes sometimes better at HD. The HD close to my fiancée shouldn't even exist, they piss me off consistently with horrible service and never stocking properly. Other HDs around me are great though.

  5. I just checked my order status and it said cancelled. Not sure what is going on. I was afraid it was too good to be true!

That's a bummer, you should try and call to see what they have to say, maybe you can weasel something out of them for misleading the customer. [emoji6]

  6. Good Day Crew!

Well, sometimes your're the bug and sometimes your're the windshield.  Has of today, me and the ol' lady are no longer one.  I have had enough of her bullshit, time for her to pound sand. Not going to lie it does hurt, but at some point one needs to make a decision.  For the past 10 years, I been the "bread winner", I was more than happy to let her stay at home, and take care of the household.  I found out that she was not taking care of medical bills, and ran up my credit cards and decided it was not important to pay them.

So now, need to figure a bunch of shit out, cry a tear in beer LOL, and figure out what to do with all this extra room I am going to have.....

I will post some updates, has things play out....

    -Steven

Good luck to you brother, we're all here for ya, sounds like you need some time with a sawzall and a sledge hammer! lol

  7. My Milwaukee Fuel Gen1 1/4'' impact came with a belt clip.I got it around April or May.Did not know about Gen2 being on its way.But never lost any sleep over it.The way I see it Gen 3 is probably next years model.Gen 4 the year after.

I got mine as a bare tool.Already had 3 4.0 batteries that came with my 1/2'' impact Milwaukee Fuel.

Not sure when the Gen 1 came out, but pretty sure it was not last year.  Tool companies don't update their tools like iPhones and such.

  8. Hmmm. Well as much as I like my Milwaukee that new dewalt stuff looks nice but I don't know if I will like the way it drills. My buddy as a dewalt impact and I never liked it

I don't use my impact for drilling, I carry the compact which handles mostly everything and when I need the extra power I have the big boy hammer drill. Interestingly enough I have an m12 fuel hammer drill that is maybe 1/4" longer than the Dewalt 20v hammer.

  9. These dewalt drills are short in length so to me I classify them as compact. I also look at brushless all being on the same level. So I would compare it to the fuel gen 2 because its their top end models no?

Impact wise yes but Dewalt has more levels of premium drills than Milwaukee. The gen 2 Milwaukee drill is comparable to the Dewalt DCD995, the brushless hammer drill.

  10. ALWAYS. If I am working on something like my engine, I try to thread as much by hand as possible, then use just the socket or socket and extension. Then it's just a quick zip with a power or air tool. Then the torque wrench to ensure proper torque settings.

If that little voice on your head says you shouldn't do it, probably shouldn't, nothing worse than snapping a head off a bolt and spending half our day trying to carefully get the damn thing out.
