  1. The 887 will replace the 895 and the 886. You will probably see the 886 still ship in some combo kits for a while though. Not sure on pricing yet, should be around the same price as the 886.

I'm surprised no body has mentioned the new light on the new drill (DCD791/796). 60 lumens and you can leave it on a 20 min timer.

Saw that on the video, not sure if I will replace my current 20v compact drill, I use my 995 for heavy drilling, love the 3 speed of the drill! Maybe eventually I'll replace it if the price is right.

  3. Was forced to buy an Airlift tool to evacuate all the air out of my trucks coolant system after removing the EGR and flushing the system. Couldn't find one to rent, borrow or a reasonable cost for a mechanic to do it. The tool itself is pretty handy. Hooks to a compressive and uses a Venturi to create a vacuum on the system. After getting 25+ psi of vacuum, you open a ball valve and it draws coolant from your bottle or bucket into the system. I'll upload some pics later.

It is a universal tool and should work on most passenger vehicles.

I know enough about cars to not make me look like a dumbass lol. Sounds like you had a hell of a project on your hands though.

  4. Me too. I've been using the DCF895 for a few years now and come to love it. Though in all honesty, it's been sitting in speed 3 ever since. Do like the chuck on this.

Like I've said I never used it but heard it was difficult to adjust to, I have a 2 speed m12 impact and I don't think I've ever dropped to the lower speed setting but it's nice to have, I've envied the Milwaukee users with the multi speed fuels.

  5. Not sure on the specs of the fuel vs the non fuel but look at the strokes per minute and the length of the cut. Nothing worse than settling for something when in reality you want something more. Would the brushed model settle your wants and needs or would everything you lose it feel like your lacking or missing out on something.

Odds are if your occasionally using it you don't need the fuel but if your anything like me and most people on here you want the biggest and baddest on the market and that would probably be the fuel.

So as Tim the tool man Taylor used to say, more power (followed by grunting.)

  6. The chuck is different than the 895, that model kind of fell flat and was not widely loved.  Never used that one but heard it was difficult to use at times.  This model is dewalts answer to the gen 2 Milwaukee.  The torque on this one would actually be 25 more than Milwaukees, which will we actually notice? Probably not, but its nice to see Dewalt improve their impacts, especially with the 899 they introduced recently.

  7. Picked one of these up last night and was testing it out, surprised at the strength of the magnet.  Definitely worth having in your bag of tricks, not as good as an old fashion magnetic sleeve but I was impressed with the strength of the magnet to the screw.  I have a couple dewalt sleeves like this but they tend to slide a little. With this makita there is no play.  The bits fit very snug in it as well.
