So what batteries do these run on? Not tool batteries surely.

There on the way...

I might try and get my collection up today... might...

Thats a lot of impact drivers... nice!

Also "Alcohol at tools"?

I am guilty of having a beer or two while working around the house and have been drinking in a few of my youtube videos *slaps hand* and don't see anything wrong with it. I don't drink 'at work', and I would never get shit faced and operate my table saw. But there is nothing quite like a cold beer on a hot day while working in the garden or on the house.

Tools & Stuff replied to kornomaniac's topic in Makita
I now have the 36v and have uploaded a vid on my channel about the tool. It is a nice unit, although better vibration control would be nice. Also mine is made in China and HAS the 'easy adjust' shoe. And came in a case despite being only a 'skin only' version. -
I'll let you know, if I ever do it

I have an interesting idea for the remains of this drill if I ever get the time.
-
Got it the other day but finally took it out of the box and put it together. Hard to fit in a photo it is so long!
-
No, cordless. I try to only buy cordless now.

Hopefully I can get through ok. New tools are always a struggle for me. I just hate having to decide on whether to get the grunty one, or the really grunty one. Tough times ahead. I haven't even finished putting together my last Makita haul. Oh well...

It looks like just the switch is fried, but I will never get around to replacing it. She was a good drill, taken a heap of abuse. I can't count how many times she has fallen off scaffolding or a roof, etc onto concrete and I have cringed as she bounced along, but she always kept going... until now.

I will replace it with a Makita. I have finally come to a decision to sell all my old Hitachi 18v stuff (Recip, Jigsaw, Circ, Impact, grinder, vacuum, blower, 3 lights and a buggered drill) and put the money towards a Makita Drill and Jigsaw. It does mean more tools shopping... hopefully I can handle that.

I have the x2 and find it perfect for my needs. Drills quick. For chipping it is good for small jobs but not too comfortable for extended use. I would buy it again.

My Hitachi DV18DL which has been a faithful friend over many years is no more. Whilst making a Homemade BBQ... she bit the dust.

A Makita Elf who stole all my money!

More stuff to put me off in the paper today. 58v chainsaws recalled as they can catch on fire if you pull the trigger when the chain is jammed. Nice.

I have often thought about buying AEG cordless tools here in NZ (Ridgid in the states) but was today put off in a big way. Here in NZ, Bunnings, a large Australasian Hardware store stock a lot of AEG stuff. Whilst there today I saw a rather large box of returned 'dead' batteries from customers. So that ended any thought of me buying those tools. Such a shame.

That certainly deserves a lot of eggplants! (or aubergine)
