  1. I don't know what the run times are between the 2 tools but I do know mine has a tool-less adjustable shoe.
  2. I know a guy who always starts his ute with a Makita battery. Doesn't even have a car battery in it.
  3. I instantly thought of a lightsaber when I saw it too.
  4. Another Kiwi here, welcome aboard cuz
  5. Hopefully the cordless one will be out soon.
  6. Unless you have only just started in the world of tools, you will remember that not that long ago mitre saws never even had indents, you just lined up the arrow with the degree line, which you still need to do with the detent on this saw, no big deal. Would this put you off buying the saw? Maybe if everything else about it was identical to another model, but that won't happen. "I love the left/right bevel, the side rail system, the bluetooth, the dual dust collection system, the cut capacity, front bevel control, being able to put it up against a wall, but I am not buying it because I have to line up an arrow to a line by half a mm to make a cut" Really?
  7. Every Makita mitre saw I have used has that issue. The detents are just a quick find, you should then lock it in place before cutting. Once you do your initial set up and get your zero set to the orange arrow the rest will line up. Not a big deal like toolaholic is making out.
  8. You can get the electrics from ebay. Genuine about $20. Does it run faster without the potted board? I have one with the same issue and by-passed it and the motor seemed to run really fast.
  9. I read that it was to be released in August, so maybe just a few days to go...
  10. Well... you may need... Circ saw Recip saw Jigsaw grinder plane sander multi-tool Metal saw Rotary hammer drill trim router That would be a good starter kit
  11. Why does it really matter. They work don't they? Knowing every little thing that is in the battery isn't going to make my tools any different.
  12. Looks quite good. I might look into getting a couple of those.
  13. All I know is the one I tried had the bluetooth functioning, as did the 10" mitre saw. They were both connected to the same functioning bluetooth vac. I imagine they would be released at a similar time... but who knows...
  14. I got to play with the Makita Plunge a few weeks back. Very cool. Even has bluetooth to hook up to a vac.
  15. I love it, love it a lot! I did a review on it on youtube. I live in NZ so the price won't relate as we get ripped off down here on the cost of power tools. I got it for NZ$279 (approx US$200). I'm off to use it again now!
  16. A radio doesn't have a motor in it. The fans are probably 12v with a 12v transformer in the tool and don't draw the current of a mitre saw motor. They could put a transformer in a saw to get the voltage right, but more money, space constraints, sales, etc probably stop them. It will happen one day.
  17. No. But the features are far superior to any mitre saw I have seen. Having the bevel knob on the front is great. Great dust collection with 2 ports, and bluetooth to connect to vac. Being only 36v the motor would not function (I assume) with higher AC voltage. The Flexvolt in NZ where I live does not come with AC power, I assume due to our power being 240v and the batteries only adding up to 108v. Makita is doing the same saw in a AC only version also.
