  1. Hey fellas I know all of you probably lube your ratchets I know I do and I have tried everything from wd-40, motor oil, super lube etc and have finally found the absolute best of the best. It is Lucas Oil synthetic assembly lube which comes in a decent size bottle and it is green in color kinda like 2 cycle oil lol. I have many many ratchets of all professional tool brands and have put it in all to see how quite they can be and I can say it even made a 36 tooth snap on whisper quite and a tiff 1 SK where you couldn't even here it at all same with the snap on dual 80. I was so surprised the difference I know snap on uses super lube and have some and have used it but it has nothing on this stuff and it's very clingy and on the bottle says great for long term storage it's kinda the consistency of I'd say molasses or honey and doesn't make any ratchet stick. I just wanted to give you all a heads up on this as we all use ratchets and it's a must to lube them and quite and smooth is great specially with low tooth count or high tooth coun. Give the stuff a try you will be amazed you can find it at AutoZone or advanced auto parts I believe I get my products free from family oh and one more thing it's 100% USA made and family owned. Good luck guys happy wrenching.
  2. I would never paint a power tool unless it's like the metal housing of the hammer of an impact . I use degreaser and wd40 and sometimes nail polish remover from the wife but I have used the polishing heads on my drimmel to shine them up or use a grinding head and smooth out Knicks and then polish some times I use 3m rubbing compound and wax to shine up the plastics. My methods also work great on screwdriver handles clear becomes clear again and faded colors become colorful again it sometimes takes some work but I can work wonders on even the nastiest looking tools. I've bought plenty of used tools solid black and beat to death and now look great wish I had before and after pics. I just renewed a snap on ratchet handle a soft grip that was very bad now looks like new green with black tips and logo not like the new black with green. I've had to do all my power tools with the methods I listed and have alot snap on,matco,Makita and hilti.
  3. I'm so jealous of you guys and your German and Swiss screwdrivers I have 3 sets of snap on instincts in the more rare colors grey, yellow, and red white and blue and have some loose snappy hard handles in white, clear, black and orange and a set of violet torqs and 1 lone green and 1 pink instict . I have other sets of Klein and Milwaukee and pink matco wittes and have singles or pairs of Macs, matco, Napa wittes and craftsman pros . My ratcheting screwdrivers are snap on is red bull racing colors, pink and green but have a black and gold craftsman pros. I have more lol I love to collect screwdrivers I have a couple wihas and a wear circuit tester screwdriver and my wittes is all the German I have. I'd like more but don't know where I'd put them lol I already have a set of bel air blue snap ons coming heck all my snap on sets are still in the plastic. I just use the loose ones as they are all good I use my old craftsman clear and blue drivers as beaters. Sorry for ramblings lol got alot.
  4. I man estwing guy for claw hammers but also have a Stanley anti vibe but for dead blows or mallets I'm a trusty cook man all the way and they are made about 100 miles from where I live here in indiana.
  5. I have none : ( I only have snap on,mac and Klein's as they are my go to and make nice stuff oh also have some Diamond horseshoe and crescent or channel lock he blue handled forgot brand as I have 2 plier drawers and don't use the second drawer. I have been wanting some knipex bad but already built my collection and have way to much as it is or a pair of pliers wrenches would be on they're way kinda tore really I know he with the most tools wins but out of space I need a side or top box badly.
  6. Yeah they do and cheaper than Amazon or Tekton site and I live 5 min from one. I'm wanting to get the impact sockets in 1/2 but find it hard to stray from USA made or truck tools but severely lacking in the impact department lol I use my craftsman USA chrome sockets as I have a ton of them aside from my truck or industrial brand sockets. My matco cordless 1/2 does damage to the square end fast some guys would get sick if they seen that lol but have no choice yet.
  7. That is not an original V it should be like a VF or 2 digit the -V- has an oil port and different bottom plate more like a silver circle. Still a good ratchet the new Chinese are straight up crappola. I have a -V- set in original case and it's complete someone gave me it's 3/8 and 1/4 SAE it's in good shape but never use SAE. I heard Sears just swaps out ratchets now with refurbs bet some guys can get very lucky, I have a -V- rhft ratchet that I want to take in to see what I get lol but won't take anything less than a fine tooth ratchet. A lot of people love the craftsman rhft I paid $1 for mine along with 4 others same price 1 was a 1/2 flex head they all just take up space I just bought a whole Bluepoint 100pc socket set for $100 and it's my road kit. I don't see the hype in craftsman V tools I think they are no different in quality or strength than the danaher ones I've used both very hard before they just look different slightly I might trade off my whole craftsman USA collection I have tons of sockets I paid $5 a small shoe box for at my local pawn I have many many sockets I got them everywhere it seems even find them in odd places lol I'd say I have 2000 of them.
  8. I have a set similar to this but is made by Irwin, I have a impact rated set and the regular but both are same design. I have yet to use them as I just keep a box of cheapo sockets and just beat them on with a hammer. I have used the snap on branded versions at my old job at a junk yard and it worked well.
  9. I love Tekton I have the 18" 3/8 ratchet, usa screwdrivers, mini needle nose pliers,3/8 extensions and high leverage cutting pliers and a couple more things and they are made good. I even got a Tekton sticker on my box they sell them at meijers and on black Friday they had them buy 1 get 1 free and that was awsome. Wish they would step up they're game on ratchets as they are a out dated design but I like my long 3/8 for $25 you can't beat that and they are 72t and got the 8 piece screwdriver set free also would have been $25 and for USA pliers that a pretty good. I'm more of a truck brand tool guy but make exceptions for quality at a good price and perfect for back ups or fill ins. I don't favor anyone brand like to have some of all.
  10. Hmmm I got some apex industrial bits with a 1/2 square drive and have pin detent they are big and thought they were 1/2 hex but could be 7/16 dunno but that thing you got must be what they are for isn't it called a nutrunner definitely isn't a screw gun as they are small like my 7.2v snap on screwguns. I have no idea if I ever could use the bits for anything as they would only fit my drills and they are not made for busting nuts loose.
  11. I just use my 1/4 hex impacts with the squaredrive bits the makita gold 3/8 is my favorite or my industrial Apex bits they are rock solid but have the pin lock detects instead of ball and you have to use a pocket screwdriver to get them off. Also use my matco 1/2 with a reducer. I have a Hilti and makita impact driver I thought they already make the 3/8 I got the Lee's tool app for makita and I thought I saw them. I also like to use my 7.2v snap on screw guns and 1/4 impact they are about the size of a small pistol like a 9mm and are light weight and strong.
  12. I buy used tools all the time I just got a wright 3/4 socket set sae and metric with 24" ratchet for $100 and a 100pc+ blue point socket set with wrenches for $100 and it retails for $514 ,I got them at my local pawn shop also got a whole box of snap on,sk and other pro brands sockets for $5 out of the loose tool bin have got many great truck brand tools like that. Craigslist can be good as well or ebay sometimes but lol just paid $165 for 4 snap on screwdrivers but they are the rare grey instinct grips still in plastic but they are rare and took me 8-9 months to fine my wife's has pink snap on and matco and that stuff is high. EBay is definitely good when buying used truck brand tools just have to take your time and look for best deals but pawn shop will always be my favorite don't if think or wonder if it's stolen or anything becuase really no way to know to heck with it just keep your receipts. Buying used is the way to go i even buy used on the snap on truck lol and he lets me warranty whatever and dont care where or how I got them I feel bad to the guys that buy everything new if you save like me you can get more tools along with the ones you wanted.
  13. Love my Hilti impact driver and my snap on 7.2v screw guns or 1/4 impact nice small and just enough power ,about the size of a small pistol and when you hit the trigger the guns will turn as the motor spins they are strong for the volts they will screw in long wood screws into hard wood or self tapping metal screws not great for drilling holes in metal but can and wood and batteries last awhile and charge in about 30 min or less. The Hilti is a beast about all I can say so is the drill but are so heavy.
  14. I'd be careful with the heat because the metal will get hot and melt the plastic, just stick it on carpet and put your foot on it and take your adjustable wrench or combo wrench and hammer to it and start whacking it will come off just don't be afraid to go gorilla on it takes a good solid wack my air impact ratchet was a pain took a few solid blows.
  15. I'm a Hilti or makita man myself more so Hilti and my 1/2 impact is Matco and I got snap on 1/2 and 7.2v screw guns I love the expensive tools i guess but they are usually the weaker tools in power but are built very well. Hilti makes very good drills and impact drivers I love mine but they are heavy but mainly steel internals like gears and such but for the price you can buy more tools in say the big box stores. Just 1 of my snap on screw guns were like $350 and it's the size of a small pistol lol and I got 3 of them. I don't use those much as I like to use my Hilti impact. I'd be willing to try kobalt but don't have many kobalt tools and all mine are williams era kobalt hand tools.
  16. If I were to buy importing get grey pneumatics or sunex maybe even the matco adv sets but I like wright or snap on really but have heard a lot of good about the HF impacts ive only tried the adapter/reducers and they are awgul.
  17. I buy Hilti and snap on cordless tools for no reason other than they look nice but work great as well and Hilti has a crazy good warranty snap on gas the worst. It helps to buy used with prices but you lose warranty but eventually all power tools die sometime.
  18. Lol not really but thanks .I like to buy limeted edition tools i looked on kc tools site and they only have 2 of the sets in stock the 1/4 ratchet set ans screwdriver set they are pricey butI paid $165 for 4 grey limeted edition snap on soft grip screwdrivers but it took me months to find a set as they are hard to get I got them in yellow, pink, red white and blue and green just in soft grips I got hard handles also in clear and white and others. I hoard screwdrivers
  19. I would have chosen Bosch but I'm not a huge fan of either I have makita 1/2 drill and impact driver but now upgraded to Hilti which in my opinion is the best there is but also very most expensive but you get 20 year wear and tear warranty nobody can beat that and you can pay to fix it at a set price or get a new one for like 25% cost and has a great free repair warranty as well and all the gears are steel as well as the chucks and are super strong not the lightest but are a tool of big company professionals not really a tool for the DIYer and over kill for me but I just love high end tools the rest of my power tools are snap on or matco I could have saved so much getting big box pro brand tools and get by just as goofed but I love my power tools.
  20. I have a craftsman evolv corded drill and never use it and have had it for years bought it for like $20 new I use my Hilti cordless lithium powered drill and have the matching impact and same setup in makita for back ups so both are 1/2 drill . I never need corded but they are better with like wire brush wheel attachments or heavy drilling. I did see a corded hilti at my local pawn shop for $25 but don't need it.
  21. Most recent stuff I bought was a redbull racing snap on ratcheting screwdriver, snap on 3/4 ratchet,Williams Palm ratchet and a 1/4 USA John Deere ratchet. I've bought way to much to mention This month and last went a little overboard oh I also just hot in these rare special edition grey snap on instinct screwdrivers lol these were $165 also got them in rare yellow and in red white and blue but bigger sets, can't believe what I paid for 4 screwdrivers but I looked for months on ebay
  22. I have the snap on red bull racing ratcheting screwdriver it came from Europe it was a limeted number thing. I would get this stuff to match any day as I have been wanting to buy some wera screwdrivers and ratchet I will definitely be a buyer from Kc tools please let me know when available I'll take one of everything set wise or whatever thanks guys.
  23. I have a couple Armstrong sockets ,1 3/8 breaker bar,and 2 wrenches 1 tiny 1 big lol. They are made well and I did want some more of they're tools till I found out its about the same as Allen, kobalt, craftsman and matco, I'm more of a snap on, mac and industrial I like wright and williams. The newer 88t maxx Armstrong ratchets are a good by compared to Matco but still chose to get matco ratchets I like to have ratchets and other tools to have variety ans to sample everyone. Can't say I'll miss Armstrong or Allen can't even see how they stayed in business this long and not shocked about craftsman because they have been around forever making pretty much the same damn tools for years which weren't great to start with and got worst plus they made so much of it people can find it used very easily specially in yard sales and such. I bought all my craftsman usa for pennies and still wasted my money as I never use any of them. I like USA made tools but really don't care where it's made as long as it is top notch. I have Carlyle Asian made and Bluepoint ,and couple williams and I'm happy with it all every bit as nivevas my newer usa tools.
  24. I want to buy some knipex but I already have snap on and Mac plus a few Klein's but I have held knipex in stores and snap on truck and I love German tools. Would like to try the pliers wrench or alligator maybe one day I love my cornwell twister adjustable wrench it's awesome and love my snap on talon grips my vise grips are green handled mac made in usa which are nice also have petersons.
  25. Awesome I've never heard of this tool I always used a grinder ,drill or angle grinder. I'll have to look into one of these thanks folks.
