kpvith
Hi, I bought a DeWalt Random Orbital sander as in the pictures from the authorized agent here in Sri Lanka (Delmege Forsyth & Co. Ltd) on 15th September 2016. Model No is D26451. Then I contacted DeWalt about the product and they said that it was manufactured in 2011 and the product is obsolete and a new model is available now. The item I received has wearing marks on the outside indicating that it had been on the shelf for too long. Then I contacted the local agent whom I bought from and they said that even though it was 5 years old there would be no problems since it wasn't used. They said that it is as good as new. Actually I bought this item with a discount. But they have not really mentioned it was old when i bought it. I would really appreciate if you people can give me any advice on this. Is it OK to have this 5 years old tool, which was not used. Will it affect its life time?? please advice. Thanks in advance!
DR99
The only issue you might have problems with is spare parts if needed. Other than that sitting on a shelf shouldn't really effect a power tool for the most part.
