Marcv76
Dewalt needs to hire this guy as a design engineer.
jeffmcmillan
FYI the video has the start point set halfway through so I was really confused at first. If Dewalt wanted to give it that capacity, they would have increased the size, but most people want this as a more compact miter saw especially with flexvolt out. Also I'm guessing his build depends on some tight tolerances that a machinist could get but would incur additional manufacturing cost.
Hugh Jass
Nice mod for sure. For me this is worth it but I wish they designed the motor vertically so that it could be dual compound, that's the only thing that keeps me from selling my 780 and using the cordless as my primary saw aside from cut capacity.

Very true, they could have made it this way if they wanted to but why when they can milk another battery platform cost out of you and a Cadillac saw price, Cheaper note a 12" rafter square and a skil saw can achieve same results Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Marcv76
I find that I have more need to cut 12" boards than I do 4x4's. I really like the DCS361 and I think its perfect for its intention, which is to be a small miter saw for trim work and some 2x4"s. If it cut 2x12"s it would be more perfect for my uses. I have a full size saw but I always like the smallest tool possible for the work needed. The flex volt saw is awesome but its overkill for most of my needs. I hope they come out with a single battery 10" saw like the Milwaukee. The Milwaukee is great but it was so messy that I sold it. I expected some mess but they barely even considered dust collection. Hugh Jass
Dewalt isn't very good at dust collection either, if I'm not outside I run a vac no matter what, no other way to go.
builditguy
I don't have the cordless miter saw, yet. He has some skills. As far as dust collection, I've never had much luck with dust collection on a sliding miter saw.
