bsayles13
Has anybody tried this gearwrench set? Looking for a decent quality comprehensive set, thanks.http://www.tooldiscounter.com/ItemDisplay.cfm?lookup=KDT84916&source=froogle&kw=KDT84916&gclid=Cj0KEQiAqdLDBRDD-b2sv6-i6MsBEiQAkT3wAnR0nPYk0JHI-QWRQJolLjZGzUzJi1jYhoDj5ef_j2IaAqVw8P8HAQSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
WeldfabNeil
I bought a Proto set with 1/2 an 3/8 of both metric an sae. I wana say it was like 80 or 90 pieces. I also bought some extensions. They weren't cheap but good tools aren't cheap. They were still cheaper then buying a snap on set. I keep saying I am gonna get some unervisal joint ones as well, that hasn't happened thoe.
Todd the Tinkerer
I haven't used them personally, but the Fastenal rep at my work didn't speak very highly of them. Take it for what you want. He said that proto and black hawk saw less warranty claims. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sunex also might be worth looking at. They make really nice mid priced socket sets.
NicholasShetley
I have used sunex and never had an issue with any of mine. I bought them around two years ago. If you dont need bigger 3/8 sockets here is a good set but it only goes to 19mm and 3/4.https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005MVB9Y8/ref=pd_aw_sim_469_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=W9TF723SVF0A9KRMD9TT&dpPl=1&dpID=61UYEqtwYfL I have these sets since they go all the way up to 22mm and one inch. Here is the metric set https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000LQDB86/ref=pd_aw_sbs_469_of_8?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=5DEPXRF52KJFQHSCV60J Here is the standard set. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000ROE4FQ/ref=pd_aw_sim_469_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=6NCVVH77SWED7Z4ZJQM8&dpPl=1&dpID=615z2yZEr4L

We all have sunex sockets at work and have yet to encounter problems. The gearwrench set is also CrM so they will be very similar. I guess it comes down to shipping costs. Realistically I will only need up to 19MM for lug nuts, I can't think of anything I would be doing that will require a much more extensive set. Thanks for your help.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk
Conductor562
Sunex are pretty nice impact sockets and have a good reputation. I dunno what you drive or the extent of your use, but many trucks and SUV's have 21mm and 7/8 lugs. 19mm isn't going to cover all your potential lug nut applications.

BMack37
I have that Gearwrench set, I think it's great. The only thing I don't love is that it has four latches on the case, I always forget to unlatch the sides haha.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N920A using Tapatalk It's a great set, it even has the extremely important size stamped as well as laser marked. I think I'm going to take a paint pen to the stamp so I can read the size on both sides.
