So I talked to a DeWALT support specialist and asked about a Flexvolt Track Saw release date (the North American model) They were unable to tell me a release date. Not sure if they just didn't know or were trying to keep it a secret. Rumors were it might be released in April. I also asked about dates for DeWALT's big June event and they told me they have multiple events planned throughout the year. They neither confirmed a June event nor divulged any dates for future events.

Just a word of advice, anyone you ever talk to on a phone for any company literally knows about half as much as anyone that's doing independent research like you'll find by searching review sites and web forums like this one. Employees that are employed to speak on behalf of the employer are always in the dark.

Late year is what I've heard for track saw and that the June event this year is a Stanley one.

Hmmm... something to do with the Lennox and Irwin absorption maybe?

I hope there is a big event this year for DeWALT. Replacing it with a Stanley one would be disappointing to all the DeWALT guys. I'm sure it would be a good event just not a DeWALT event haha.

Lots of stuff just gets a press release, or shown off at other expos like STAFDA or World of Concrete for example. Milwaukee is usually the one with dedicated shows and even they have plenty of press releases throughout the year.

so the big event last year was mostly because flexvolt was coming out and not just a yearly thing? I wonder what Stanley has in the works if it is getting the big event this year. I could even see SB&D dedicating the big event to the recent company purchases like Lenox, Irwin, and Craftsman.

Exactly. I thought it was an annual thing but it was because they had 3ish years of R&D finally coming to fruition. Plus they were able to take a dump on NPS, which is usually a highlight of the year.

If Milwaukee doesn't release a one key enabled battery this year I think tool connect might have a slight edge over one key especially with a vac in the works.

All the recent batteries have one key symbols. Over half my M18 batteries have it. I'd be shocked if it isn't just a matter of updating the app.

would they need a pairing button like the tools? or some light to indicate it is pairing or paired?

No idea. Could be as simple as pressing the battery indicator button multiple times or something? Or maybe a "one key charger" or something could be required. Just theorizing lol.

not sure how much the tool and battery talk but could be something as simple as connecting the battery to a one key tool to set it up. Then it would be good to use on any tool.

And I've been waiting for that update ever since I brought that symbol on the battery to their attention and inquired about it months ago! Lol so help me if it's a big disappointment
