Jronman
was a trick question. Milwaukee doesnt have a packout wall rack out or announced yet. Would someone like to go?
dwain
Sure. I don't know the answer to this question, but I'll look it up. Which platform (brand and voltage) has the largest selection of saws, and how many? By this i mean circs, jigs, recip, band, chain etc ... Please note that I am asking about unique saws. So a different handled/form saw is OK, but multiples of the same sort of saw in brushed, 2nd gen and BL etc don't count. Example: The M18 line would have two recip saws only (hackzall type and sawzall type). Example 2: Bosch's 18V barrel-grip jigsaw and d-handle grip jigsaw count as 2. Example 3: Different size blades count as multiples.
D W
Makita 18V. I'm not sure I can name all of them but here goes: - Full sized recip - One hand recip (brushed) with dual trigger - Subcompact recip - Circular saw 6.5inch - Rear handle circular saw - Metal cutting saw - Band saw???do they have one - Barrell grip jigsaw - D handle jigsaw EDIT: Total of 9 saws in 18V Edited October 23, 2017 by D W Added total

Stercorarius
DeWalt has at least the Flexvolt platform: 12" sliding miter 12" non sliding miter Table saw Track saw Chain saw Rear handle circ 7 1/4" sidewinder circ Recip saw So that's only 8 if you count that as a separate platform. 20v Max: Chainsaw 7 1/4" circular saw Compact recip Full size recip 6 1/2" circular saw Metal 5 1/2" circular saw Deep cut portaband Standard portaband Jig saw 7 1/4" miter saw 11 if you count that separate
dwain
New top is 11, but I don't think Dewalt has the most
jtkendall
Milwaukee M18 has 10 by my count, the two bandsaws have different cut capacities so they both count. 3 circ sizes (5-3/8, 6-1/2, 7-1/4), 2 miters (7-1/4, 10), hackzall, Sawzall, and jigsaw. I thought they had more but was thinking of the corded metal cutting circ which I think is 6-1/2.

Stercorarius
I think Makita may have a few more. Not familiar enough with the brands outside of red and yellow to say. Bosch doesn't have many, there are only so many formats. Maybe festool?

I believe the tilesaw only comes in 12V. So by might count you're up to 14. My answer was Makita with 17 (add their 18x2 7-1/4" circ saw, their 2nd bandsaw and their 2nd metal cutting saw). You're up Korno.
aessu
Makita actually has 2 totally different kinds of full sized chainsaws. Granted one is brushed and another is brushless, but the bodies are completely different.
kornomaniac
Abit of guessing here but it's a festool spoiler for you guys for the near future: What technology will be featured in upcoming Festool batteries ( should be Jan/Feb 2018 for EU ). Bonus points if you can point out what the technology will be used for!
Jronman
Industry is going smart or high demand so maybe either bluetooth or 21700 cells. I have a feeling that is not it. Ima guess the batteries have something to do with activating vacs.
kornomaniac
Spot on actually. Bluetooth batteries for vacs You are up !
Jronman
wow wasn't expecting to get it right. What brands offer a drill with easily removable chucks? One brand in particular comes with multiple chucks in the kit to easily swap out depending on the task at hand.
D W
Definitely Metabo and Bosch, not so sure about Festool but I will include them in the answer.

One brand in particular comes with multiple chucks in the kit to easily swap out depending on the task at hand. As far as I know, it's Bosch (12V and 18V), Milwaukee M12, Festool, Metabo and Fein. Bosch, Milwaukee and Festool have a few different types of chucks (right-angle, offset, 1/4" bit holder etc) Metabo have a quick change chuck, but the only compatible 'chucks' are the little 1/4" 'bit holder it comes with, and the huge torque multiplier, so I assume you don't mean that. FEIN also have a removable chuck with a little 1/4" hex bit holder. Come to think of it, maybe they have other chucks, but I don't remember seeing any. kornomaniac
What dwain said. But then add mafell ( rebranded metabo tho )
