YukonPlumber
I'm picking up some new accessories for my new kit and was wondering what auger bits you guys recommend for use on job sites.
Harold Wray
Oh man I have always wanted some of those Milwaukee auger bit's. I see Dan and Eric use them with a lot of reviews. They look long lasting. http://www.homedepot.com/s/milwaukee%2520auger%2520bit?NCNI-

yamatitan
Irwin get dull way too fast if your using them a lot. Im a electrician and tried just about all ob them. Irwin cut very fast when new but dull after one nail or so. The longest lasting for me have been the greenlee nail eaters. Currently my favorites are the bosch because they are 1/3rd the price of the nail eaters but they cut faster and dont last quite as long but thats ok with the lower price since I can buy about 3 for the price of 1 greenlee.Havent tried the Milwaukee yet but looking at the design they are going to be slow like the greenlee. YukonPlumber
Ya Irwin's speed ones are on sale for 18$ for a 5/8", 3/4" and 1"! But if their not worth the money it's still a waist of 18$, I live by the moto buy once cry once.
NicholasShetley
The tri fluted ones? They work great except drilling into the side of a 2x4 they will split the wood like crazy.

Javier
They have speed bore max bits that are bi-metal and can handle wood with embedded nails
ChrisK
I've had the same Irwin's for years. They're pretty dull now and have been thinking about picking up some Bosch's. They make great quality blades so...
BK13
They have speed bore max bits that are bi-metal and can handle wood with embedded nailsI have wondered if those are any different/better than the regular Speedbor....
Javier
I have wondered if those are any different/better than the regular Speedbor.... speedbor max are much better than the regular speedbor but it takes more power to run these bits though. The larger sizes will easily stall cordless drills on high speed. If you're talking about the regular speed bor max versus the bi-metal speed bor max then they should perform about the same with the bi metal bits having the extra durability to endure nail embedded wood

wayneburgess
Bosch daredevil I think they call them on your side of the pond as well as here. As a plumber and Heating Engineer I drill holes all the time and these are the business holes per pound/dollar they are brilliant.
