pschmidt64
What's the drawbacks to buying a DCD985L2 vs. DCD980L2? Reason I ask is a lot of the combo kits come with the hammer drill version. I really want the premium one - I don't care about the hammer drill. But can't 'save' on the combo kits w/out getting the hammer drill. So will the hammer drill - used as a drill - last as long, etc. as the non-hammer? The hammer function always adds complexity to the mechanics...how's that going to effect it's longevity/function? Thanks
kjones
They are the exact same drill, with the exception being that the 985 has an extra piece behind the chuck. Life of the tool will be the same.
