irishroey
Hi all I am looking for a new jigsaw as my 18v unit happen to be emerged in a foot of water over a weekend and was useless after that I have been reading up on a barrel grip jigsaw and was leaning towards one Anybody any info on these Cheers
kjones
I am afraid that I am unfamiliar with "barrel grip". Could you explain further what you are looking for? What does a barrel grip look like? DeWALT has some great jig saws, but I do not know if they would fit what you're looking for.
jevink
Have not seen them for quite some time, dont think they were very popular...dw323 was the dewalt barrel grip jigsaw. Instead of a handle like current models it has a small knob on top to control it. Never used one.
Mr. Yellow
This is what he means with barrel grip This type of grip is only available as a corded model (DW333K) and not in cordless. I recently bought this exact model and although I never used one with this kind of grip before (am familiar with the regular grip models from DeWALT) I like it. It gives better control especially when doing precise cuts. In the end it is just a matter of what you personally like best. None is better than the other. jevink
And I am betting that is NOT available in the US.
Mr. Yellow
You're right. I was under the impression they sold this in the US too, but a quick look at DeWALT.com learned this is an EU model. So discard my earlier message. ewils91
I would have to agree with Mr. Yellow. I have both a top handle grip and a barrel grip. I feel I have a little better control with the barrel grip and it feel more enjoyable to use for long periods. This may be attributed by relocating my hand closer to the stock being cut and it locates the hand closer to the blade as well.

Mr. Yellow
Discontinued? Where are you from? I bought one not so long ago and DeWALT is actually offering this together with a T-Stak case now (not sure if this offer applies for all of Europe)
irishroey
I'm in Ireland myself and have never seen this once Where did you see this deal for sale
Mr. Yellow
DeWALT Ireland have it listed on their website http://www.dewalt.ie/powertools/productoverview/hierarchy/43/ The offer with a T-stak case they have here in the Netherlands. Not sure if this is limited to just my country or not.
