DwTedII
Hi! I'm looking into buying a 5 piece 20 Volt Lithium set to replace my old 18 V XRP set. I see as of yet, you can't get a set including a 20 V jig saw. So I'm going to keep my 18 V xrp jig saw. The question IS, will the 20 Volt Lithium battery fit AND run the Jig saw DwTedII
kjones
No, it will not fit/run your 18v saw. Buy a 20v kit that you like, and add the jig saw in a bare tool form. Build the kit you want.
DwTedII
I got my jigsaw with a 6 PCS 18 VoltXRP set. So...just why can't they do that again with the 20 V Ion ??
rossi7x
I got my jigsaw with a 6 PCS 18 VoltXRP set. So...just why can't they do that again with the 20 V Ion ?? As far I am aware, the 20v XR Li-ion kits are decided by the U.S. head-office.. In Europe they are still called 18v (as opposed to 20v max in the U.S.).. Originally the UK kits also came with a re-cip saw, and this was based upon the fact that cordless re-cip saws are a massive seller in the US, so they feel that the rest of the world should follow suit.. In fact, it is proven that a Jig-saw is a much better seller in Europe than a re-cip. Hence the fact that we now have a second 5 kit with a jig saw(as opposed to the re-cip) and also a 6 kit which adds the cordless grinder.. As another post say, buy a 5 kit and then add a bare unit jig-saw to suit..
