Schavo22
I have a makita hr2811f sds rotary hammer drill. I'm wondering if anybody has used a 1/2 in chuck with an sds shank on these drills. I'm thinking of buying one to mix mud and possibly drill into thick metal since I don't own a drill press. The no load speed is 1,100 rpm. Schavo22
I found one made by bosch on amazon. It's called the ha3jaw.
mustang347
I've had a few I think they were Milwaukee and Bosch. They worked fine. I did notice however that sometimes the 1/2" chuck adapter would loosen up while using the hammer function. It wasn't that big of a deal if you knew to check it. Schavo22
Good to know. I just want to use the adapter in drill mode
Conductor562
http://www.zorotools.com/g/Rotary%20Hammer%20Adapters/00147781/?category=5929That's pretty damn cool. $43 is a hell of a lot better than buying a special mixing drill. DR99
The only thing I see is mixing drills have very low rpm's between 550 and 600 from the few models I looked at. I think they are geared down to be torque monsters.
Gatorb888
Dewalt makes one: DW5351 SDS Plus to 1/2" chuck adapter Then you have to buy the chuck: DW5353 1/2" chuck & key http://www.dewalt.com/tool-parts/drilling-accessories-concrete--masonry-drilling-shank-adapters-dw5351.aspx

Schavo22
I think I'm gonna order one. Seems like a usefull attachment and it won't take up too much room in the case
