Robb
I can't believe how small that thing is and I love the fact that comes with the 5.0 Ah battery. I just hope it comes to The US soon.
ChrisK
Yeah that actually looks like a pretty sweet Impactor. The body so tiny.
opcruzer
How do we find out when this comes to the US or where can we order it across the water and pay more in shipping?
DR99
The video on YouTube has links to an ebay seller that is selling kits and the bare tool. Its crazy expensive though the bare tool with shipping is almost 300 dollars. I have no idea on a North American launch of the impact Makita seems to be slow on releasing tools here for the most part in NA. We really didn't even get any one the 4.0 ah battery tools here I think Makita made a boneheaded yet wise decision at the same time to launch new products with the 5.0 ah battery packs. What would really be awesome is 3.0ah compact battery packs lightweight and tons of run time. 6.0AH would be huge benefit for cordless saws though. KaHuNaZ
wow. that thing looks impressive. Super compact.
DR99
I wonder how much shorter they can make an impact driver.
Javier
It looks great, amazing how much power in such a small size

Conductor562
I'd love to see Makita get back in the game. I like Makita actually, I've just been disappointed in their performance over the last 3 or 4 years.
ChrisK
I will say, the OP posted it before under another topic or name. I emailed him as he had it listed for sale and he actually had it for sale on eBay in his eBay store. Pretty pricey but....well so is Festool . Only I like my TI 15 Impactor and my second choice is still the Milwaukee or new Bosch but the Makita really looks pretty slick.
gilhaim89
this is really strongest great tool.Today I worked with td148d for almost a whole day screwing hex drilling screw 3 and a half inch and 5 mm thick iron And is not heating up, not even a little.the 5.0 battery is still full ,even after all that working day. opcruzer
Wow, that is great run time. I can't wait for it to be released in the US. Unfortunately we don't even have the 4.0 batteries yet from Makita so it will be a while I bet.
ChrisK
Please somebody tell me why the US doesn't keep up with the Europeans when it comes to tool releases?
regopit
Please somebody tell me why the US doesn't keep up with the Europeans when it comes to tool releases? I just asked that question to a Dewalt rep the other day, he told me that they use it for the testing ground before they release tools here in the USA. Now if that is true or not I really don't know.
ChrisK
Maybe they're testing them to see if they blow up? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
ChrisK
Still, we should be getting the, in a timely fashion. Metabo, Dewalt Bosch c'mon send me our way for Pete sake!
KRK
I know some will think this is trivial but, I think the clear plastic guard over the contact side of the battery is an awesome thought. I wish I had those for my DeWalts...
ChrisK
Your talking about the plastic that guards the battery terminals on the loose batteries? I always liked that too when I had my Makita's originally but invariably I lost them right away. They are great for keeping out dirt but truthfully I'm so anal about keeping my tools clean it's not normally a problem.
DR99
The covers are just for shipping purposes. UPS tightened up the rules on shipping lithium ion batteries after they had a fire on one of their cargo planes that caused the plane to crash. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/07/24/ups-crash-dubai-lithium/2582213/
