RickyMcGrath
I was hoping to find a more detailed video. But I think it's still in the early phases and with negotiations going on with auto manufacturers, I doubt they want to release too many details. DR99
Dealerships will hate it, or maybe not people still might not be bothered to do it by them selves even with it being that simple. The only thing is storing used ones will be difficult before they are recycled. That's a lot of flammable material right there
NicholasShetley
They have it in the Aston Martin Vulcan right now. There are only 20 or so of them being made so it will be ideal for a test subject
comp56
well figure how stupid society is if it takes off we will have millions of these thing all over the place right along side all the used coffee pods from keurig...... DR99
I'm sure they were designed to either be recycled or be reused. Unlike coffee pods oil is considered a hazardous waste so it has to be disposed of properly. Actually if they put a core charge on it people would probably turn it in for the oil to be recycled. People still dump used oil around sadly
comp56
funny how the pod is on the top ......all my years oil was gravity feed to the oil pan ......wait 10 minutes after turning off car let oil get back into pan......guess they have a pump when put into oil change mode..... RickyMcGrath
I can't see how this does a complete oil change. I'm thinking it only is designed to do a partial change. Which, of course is ok as long as you're using the same oil every time. A colleague of mine ran some tests on his 6.4 Powerstroke as he was getting heavy oil dilution due to the regeneration process and he changed out X amount every 1,000 miles, I think it was just a quart or two, out of 14 quarts total capacity, and he saw great improvements on his oil analysis.I'm willing to bet there's going to be a healthy core charge on those things. NERemodeling
Wow that's pretty slick..I'm also betting there will be a core charge.. but you could really just pull into the parking lot of your auto parts store, unhook it, walk in and hand the old one in while buying a new one.
