  1. Bosch has jumped on the Festool bandwagon with this one and truthfully upped the ante by adding a rotary addition to it. My T18 and CXS are equipped with the righ angle and centrotec chucks as well as the Jacobs and the T18 has an eccentric chuck which allows you to set the drill on its side and drive screws an 1/8" of an inch from the drawer bottom. I'm really looking forward to seeing Bosch introduce this awesome tool here in the USA. That Makita gun has been out for years and I still don't know anyone who has one. That is the lowest price I've seen it in the last five years that I've known about it. Nice find Jimbo, I'd love to hear your thoughts on it.

    T stak

I've got a Dewalt two drawer unit that strokes all of my electrical equipment and supplies. Really useful tool box John. I've also got the Dewalt Tough Systam small tool box which actually is large enough to store my corded Milwaukee Sawzall with a bunch of blades. Great tool box!

  4. No doubt in the difference between gas and battery powered. I wanted to add one more thing. Last fall, my wife and mother in law and I headed out into the woods behind my mother in laws house to clear out some old horse trails for my wife and he mom. I brought my Makita on my Can Am and set to work for a couple of hours. I did almost drain the batteries but I took down several 6"-8" trees and some really large branches and worked the saw pretty hard. I have a small property so going out and buying a Husky wasn't worth it to me but this little saw does amazing stuff! Highly highly recommend it!
  5. Hey guys, just saw this! I've got the X2. Awesome machine!
  6. No doubt on that. My 745 was purchased because I got it for like $220 at HD. Killer deal, but the upgrade is worth it.
  7. Nice job Dwain, can't wait to get my hands on it here in the US. I am being very patient.
  8. Prior to making my purchase I went through the woes of comparing a ton of SCMS's and at the head of the pack were the Dewalt 10", the Milwaukee 10", and the Bosch Axial and the Hitachi 10". You cannot go wrong with any of those ones. As far as table saws, I'm a woodworker and made due with the Dewalt 10" DW745. I replaced it later on with a Sawstop but I loved my DW745. Super compact, I built a mobile cart for it. The fence is rock solid, the saw is super light and has plenty of power for most applications. I was looking at the Bosch because it could handle a dado stack whereas the DW745 cannot. I went with the Dewalt. I could double stack blades on the Dewalt and the fence is what sold me. To quote @Grumpy MSG though, the brands depend on you. It's all about preference. They are all great brands.
  9. Welcome to the forum Andrew! Are you looking to continue the with cordless? Do you want more corded options? Judging from your name you are doing carpentry, are you doing finish or rough carpentry? The guys here are good at spending everybody's money so think about those questions and let us know. I happen to like Dewalt. A lot. Also a fan of Makita and Bosch. But before you jump on a bandwagon think about where you are going to be applying your tools and I bet the guys here will give you some really sound advice. These lines have many avenues of specialty whereas some others really aim to a particular group. Another line is trying to aim towards every group by pushing new tools all the time and there are always problems with that. Also, being heavily invested in the Festool line I can base my opinion on the quality and accuracy of that tool line on personal experience but will point out that there are other lines with more cordless tools than Festool and spending money in that line might not yield you the best array of tools to complete a rough carpentry job. Whereas using the LR32, an OF1400 and a TS55REQ with an appropriate HEPA dust collection unit backed by a CXS and T18 will creat razor sharp lines and keep your customers house as neat as if Alice Nelson from the Brady Bunch was following you with a pink fluffy feather duster and a dust pan, but cost you a smooth grand and a half. Anyways, let us know what you plan to do with your next big investment!
  10. Same here Kruton. Nary a Metabo to be seen in NH
  11. I'm really interested in the line myself but don't see spending any cash On them yet. I really like the compact 18v tools they have and their batteries are supposed to be the bees knees but that'll mean selling off my Bosch 18v tools and I just like them too much and introducing another battery line and having another drill is just not my speed yet. The sanders though, like routers, you can never have too many!
  12. Whoa,,,,,whoa.......is this Nalurash????????? What's up bro!!!!?????
  13. Can't seem to upload the pictures angry pics I just took. It's now permanently up, I trimmed the doorjam and finished the carcass in fruitwood. The face frame and doors remain infinished till I figure out what I'm doing....paint or stain.
  14. Here are some of the interior......
  15. Well.....yeah! He wants a reliable tool that's got power! And no warranty problems!!!!!!
  16. I'm guessing so, I have seen this at Woodcraft for that price too. Nothing too fancy but I am really impressed with my Rikons thus far. Yup, a belt drive system on this one. Believe it or not I was going to get the Ryobi or the Skil, they have excellent ratings but with the five year warranty and the great results I have gotten with my Midi lathe and 14" bandsaw this ended up being the right direction for me to go with.
  17. That is a sweet hammer John! Did it come with the Bluetooth battery and do you have the link for it if it's a store?
