Does yours have a brushless motor? My cousin has a traxxas slash and he went through a ton of brushed motors. He now has a brushless motor and he has had it for over a year and it is still working great. It runs noticeably cooler and the runtime has more than doubled.

We finally got it running today and started to break in the camshaft. That involves running the engine at 2000-2500 rpms for about 30 minutes to harden the cam. You also need to use break in oil or you will wipe out the cam in seconds. We had painted the headers with ceramic paint hoping that it wouldn't burn off in no time at all but it lasted maybe 30 seconds before it started flaking off. The paint on the engine held up well though. Overall I am extremely pleased with the Rustoleum paint. I didn't record any of it unfortunately but we aren't finished breaking it in either. It can only run 10 minutes at a time before it goes above 220 degrees. We will need to get a shroud and electric fan for it before we can drive it. The engine ran strong the whole time though. It also ran great oil pressure the entire time as well, it never dropped below 45 psi. The engine sounded great as well.

I completely agree with you Javier. If they find the person who tied up the dog he shield be tied up just like the dog.

I'm sure I will be there in a few years as well Conductor. The sawzall has really impressed me considering it is over 30 years old. It can handle 1/2 inch steel with no problem. It can easily use all nine inches of a wood cutting blade too.

It won't shake the workpiece as bad though.
-
To me it makes sense how it could be more balanced. I have seen it on YouTube and it doesn't seem that bad and is smoother than a single blade one. Here is a good review of it.

Stay safe Red. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We now have the engine primed and it runs 45 pounds of oil pressure with a slow speed drill so the bearings are in great shape. The engine seems to run good compression as well for a stock small block. Right now we are just trying to get it running since a lot of the stuff can be done anytime. My grandpa wants to get it certified by the NSRA and there are certian things you need for that such as emergency brakes and wipers and other small things. We also have the grill shell painted and have the grill installed in it. I tried to buff it out to a mirror finish but that would have took it a while but it turned out much better than the both of us expected. I think it looks pretty good.

Toolguyd reported that porter cable recalled that router due to shock hazard. http://toolguyd.com/porter-cable-router-recall-2014/?utm_source=tg_side&utm_medium=web&utm_campaign=toolguyd_recent_posts

MAC used to sell dewalt tools in the trucks so they probably thought a lot of mechanics would already have them.
-
They are a hell of a lot cheaper than a utv plus they have a cab. Some of them even have air conditioning. I think that 4wd is pretty common on them. I don't know about the diesel though.
-
Cpo has them as well I noticed.

Someone said we should get a sponsorship when it was first painted.

Here are more pictures of the truck.

That was a lot closer than I thought it would be.
-
They could make half inserts for one tool.
-
We now have the radiator and hoses hooked up. We had to make the lower radiator hose since you can't just run to the parts store and get one. We welded a couple of bent pieces of exhaust tubing together and I polished it up. We also have the driveshaft cut down and balanced. We are getting closer every day.

What kind of mileage do you get with it now?
-
It should be too bad though. I would say go for it based on the price.
-
I would hook it up to your truck and see if the brakes do anything or make noise or show any sign of working. The brakes could get expensive.
-
The brakes make it a little iffy but the price is cheap enough.
I'm back.
