  1. I thought Ridgid offered a lifetime warranty on tool and batterys
  2. Ive been really happy withe the PC i went with. Came with everything i wanted for what was the best price I could find at the time. Its a nice saw
  3. Looks much better. Were there lamps or something on the pillars before?
  4. What do you set your temp at? I live in the north east, right outside of Philadelphia, Pa.
  5. Was talking it over with my cousin whos been doing hardscaping his whole life for a living. He was totally against the idea and told me he'd bring over some of his guys to help me rip it out for free.
  6. Anybody have any experience in this? I read up that it is possible to lay 1inch pavers overtop an already existing concrete patio. This would save me a ton of time and money but im a little weary about how it will hold up over the years. One video i saw even does it to a driveway. What are your thoughts?
  7. It all depends on what you'd be into. I like speed. I spend all my time on a relatively calm river, fly upstream as fast as i can and float back down and enjoy a cold one. My little 17 footer is perfect for that. When i take her into choppier waters its a rough ride for sure. And forget about inlets or the ocean, too small. Ive spend my whole life on Checkmate speed boats. I owned a 21ft Wellcraft bowrider with a 305 I/O with a pretty deep hull for about a year before. That was an OK boat. Handled the chop of the inlets pretty well. Build quality wasn't quite what im used to tho. Search some craigslist, heres a lot of deals out there to be had.
  8. Anyone else enjoy time on the water?? Here is my 81 Checkmate Enticer with a freshly rebuilt last season Mercury 115 Inline 6. Some pics of her when I first bought her from Arlington, VA, when i got her home to PA and cleaned up with the machine polisher of course, and also of some of the rebuild.
  9. My hand tools get used and abused as hard as I need to, but i always clean them up when im done whatever project. I ride differently on the power tools tho, those are my babies and i try to keep them as "new" looking as possible. I still remember the first scuff I gave my newer Milwaukee hammer drill. I was so pissed haha
  10. WTF, SINCE WHEN?!? Just purchased a set of 11' clamps and noticed it didnt have a made in usa stamp anywhere on the tool. Checked out the packaging and saw made in china to irwin specifications.
  11. Thanks guys!! Im really happy the way it turned out so far.
  12. And THIS little monster is why I cant get anything done anymore
  13. Like i said in my previous thread I never took pictures of the room before I started so just imagine all purple and green walls. Spend a lot of time mudding trying to get the walls to look good again. There were a TON of imperfections i was able to work out. Installed a new ceiling fan, ran the wiring and everything through the attic. Wasnt as hard as I was expecting it to be. Very straight forward actually. And yes, i used tape for my edges. Everyone tells me how rookie that is but hey, I am a rookie and i wanted to have as straight of lines as i could. Painting is not my gig so i think it turned out pretty good. Put new carpet down in the living and sitting areas. Laminate hardwood in the vanity area and walk in closet. Closet didnt have any kind of organizer or shelving so i got a nice cherry wood kit from HD that tuned out nicely. Vanity had a very very ugly bathroom sink, no cabinets or anything just a sink. I tore that ish out and fitted a vanity table in the area for my fiance along with a new mirror and light fixture. The project still isnt 100% finished, i still have windows to put in as well as little odds and ends. Excuse the messy room, being a new puppy owner leaves me like zero time to clean haha.
  14. Thanks guys, yes shes a choc lab. Ill try to post pics of the work today if i get a chance after work. As far as the sink in the closet? A photo room is a very good assumption. But it wasnt stainless it was a bathroom porcelin sink. I dont know, i tore that out and make the space into a makeup vanity for the fiance.
  15. Hey whats up guys, I hope everyone's been toughing out this winter its been a rough one up in the north east area. Its been a while since i posted ive been pretty busy at work and around the house. Oh and i just brought home a new family member a week ago. Her name is Lima, little story about how she got her name. Fiance' wanted a girl, I wanted a boy so i compromised and told her we could get a girl as long as I got to name her. Well, Lima came from VS model Adriana Lima haha, I win! But anyway, i redid the master bedroom and fixed some odds and ends around the house. Ill post a thread in the Show Your Work section later with pictures of the work. Unfortunately i dont have any pictures of the room before i touched it. Just imagine a room with purple wall to wall carpet, purple and green walls, and a sink in the closet??? Yeah dont ask, I have no idea why.
  16. Edit: i ended up going with the porter cable. I liked the idea of the ridgid lifetime warranty but ended up choosing the pc by a flip of the coin as well as saving a little money to put elsewhere. I also read about some cons with the ridgid's shoe flexing or what not. Im not a pro i honestly dont know what that even means but alot of reviews mentioned it soo yeah.
  17. I would love that dewalt but after buying a case for it id be at around $140. A case is a must even if i get it separately because i get crabby as hell if things arent organized in the garage. Im trying to stay below $100 total. What about ridgid saws? They any good?
  18. I dont see myself needing a jig in the near future but for $60??!!!!! Ill find a use for it!!!
  19. Been wanting to add a circular saw to the tool list lately but not sure what to get. Im not going to be building a house with the thing. Its mainly going to be for around the house projects and what not. Im not trying to spend a whole lot either since it wont really be getting used much. Im thinking corded over cordless for that reason. Ive checked out a few porter cables and they're priced nicely but i havent found one that comes with a hard case which is a must. Other brands that I trust are just too much money for the moment. How are the saws from sears?? They seem to be cheap and have cool features like the laser guide. What are your 2cents??
  20. Congrats on being a homeowner at the young age of 22, thats pretty much unheard of!! Damn I thought I was young buying my first house at 25
  21. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I cant believe how some people think.. I personally prefer Dan & Erics goofing off. It makes me look at them as normal people like you and I. I trust a review that isnt being paid for by a company and that is exactly what they give us in their videos. No bs, no tricks. Just facts and their honest opinions. I always turn to TIA before making a tool purchase to see what Dan & Eric or anyone on the forum has to say about it. And about TIA being full of people who only collect tools for the hell of it?? I may not make a living with most of my tools, but I am a new homeowner and these tools im "collecting" as well as getting good advice from the forum is saving me a TON of money and giving me a great amount of experience. How in the hell does that make TIA a non worthy site? Keep it up TIA, this is the most helpful forum I've been on in a loooong time and actually enjoy reading and posting in.
  22. great job you did everything you could and probably saved the guy's life. Very lucky you werent hit by him too
  23. Just picked up a Milwaukee 90 piece drill and drive set for $15. Set included 66 1inch insert bits, 11 2inch power bits, 2 3.5inch power bits, 10 black oxide drill bits, and a magnetic drive guide. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-Drill-and-Drive-Bit-Set-90-Piece-48-89-0017/204354228?keyword=48-89-0017#.UtBB2hxtqjQ Dewalt had a similar 77 piece set without the drill bits for $12 also. Cant find it on the website tho. I dont think those prices can really be beat. I had to get something of better quality as i went with a cheap craftsman set the first time and have been regretting it since day one.
  24. Closet looks great!! My fiance has been asking for me to redo ours. Hopefully it turns out as nice
