  1. Oh i agree completely. The hammer/impact combo i got is brushed and i wouldnt trade it for anything. Would just be nice to get the latest and greatest as this gift tho. What are everyones thoughts on that Ridgid one handed recip saw?
  2. Or maybe the m12 multi tool, $149 at HD. Unfortunately it doesnt come in a fuel version yet. That would come in handy pretty often. Right now i just use a Harbor Freight multi tool that has been faithful to me the past few years but Id like something a little nicer.
  3. What are your thoughts on the Ridgid One Handed Recip Saw, $100 at HD? I always wanted the heavy duty sawzall but now that I think of it, I feel it would be total overkill for an average do it yourself homeowner. http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-THRU-COOL-6-Amp-One-Handed-Orbital-Reciprocating-Saw-Kit-R3031/100646504
  4. So today is my 27th birthday. My fiance was upset because she wanted to get me a new power tool but couldnt figure out what to get me. So she gave me the option to pick. What are some power tools, corded or cordless, that you would absolutely want if given the choice. Hard part is the price range being below $150. Dont want her to spend too much on me as we just bought a house and money needs to go into savings right now. Btw, i already have m18 hammer drill/ driver combo so thatd be the platform id be working with if cordless.
  5. I have the corded one at work that gets used a lot for cutting conduit. Makes it easier since we can cut right there on the site and don't have to precut it all down in the shop on the huge mitering band saw
  6. I can attest to the long life of ridgid shop vacs. My company uses theirs everyday to suck up wastewater cake that falls off the press (pressed sludge) and its been going strong since before I even started working there 7 years ago
  7. Work for a wastewater treatment facility. First 5 years as a plant operator, last 2 years as a mechanic. Way too much to list as far as specifics.
  8. Great review. Im going to try and talk my boss into getting one for the shop
  9. thank you, ill have to take a ride over there
  10. My wimpy home collection All the Big Red tools i use at work. Some are pretty old and yes they all still work
  11. Ill try to take one of my Milwaukee home tools tomorrow, not much of a "collection" yet. Ill also get a pic of my work tools when i head into the shop next.
  12. When i purchased my house, the front porch posts were rotted out and the seller had them all replaced with pressure treated but didnt have them painted. I want them white. Is it safe to prime and paint pressure treated with exterior paint? My father warns me this will prematurely rot out the wood. He suggests using a stain tinted white. I wanted to look for a vinyl post wrap but havent had any luck being the post is a 3.5 x 3.5.
  13. Really testing out how much they can haul with that spare on
  14. Speaking of coolers, I just came across this today. Called the "Coolest Cooler"
  15. lol i had to watch it again, that is so cool.. Nom Nom Nom
  16. Welcome!! Go Brazil beat Germany!!!!

    Work boots?

Yeah I second redwing standing behind their product. I wasnt too impressed with the life of the redwings I bought, BUT when i went back the next year and told them about my experience they offered me new boots at a hefty discounted price. I dont know if thats because my work does business with them as the store is just right up the street, or if that is really how they run things. I was impressed by the customer service from redwing.

    Work boots?

My work provides us with a catalog to pick from and ive tried on many manyyy boots. Comfort and support are a must for me as i easily end up having lower back pain after a days work. Ive been sticking with Hytest footrests composite toe 6" work boots for a few years now. Comfy, great support, composite toe instead of steel is a plus in the winter time and a little more lightweight. Im issued a new pair each year but these have been lasting about a year and a half to 2 years, and my boots take a whole lot of abuse.
  19. Congrats!! Hope that stuff gets put to good use. TIA is awesome. Though i dont post all that much im still around reading all the threads. As you said, this is the best forum on the net.
  20. Hmm, Id probably buy a nice air compressor and start building a set of air tools
  21. I usually just pick up a bunch of cheapo's and replace as needed. I dont want to have to worry about being careful and not scratching up a pricey pair.
