  1. Ive been saving for a fuel m18 sawzall for some time now and just came across a deal on a brushed one. My local HD has an m18 sawzall with 4.0 battery and hard case on clearance for $189. Worth the savings or should I stick fuel? It would only be used for personal projects and stuff, not making a living with it.
  2. Jasonc is absolutely right. I love my little 17ft checkmate with its merc 6cyl outboard. Itll go 60mph on gps and only costs about $60 to fill with premium and itll last a whole day hot rodding around the river. Its those big boy inboard v8/s that kill ya. Outboards the way to go, low maintenance and lower fuel costs. Just one of those things you have to take care of from day one or else your looking into expensive problems down the road. *sorry for the double post*

    Ladder Q

I have a 2 story and have used a 24 footer before to clean all my gutters. Probably wouldnt be enough to actually get me up on the roof tho. Ill look into the 28 footer next time im at the depot.

    Ladder Q

What's your .02 on the werner 3 section extension ladders?? A buddy and myself are looking to go halves on a 24 ft ladder to be able to clean out the gutters when need be. When we came across this 3 piece design. Itd be wayy easier to store and transport but our concerns are in its design strength and durability. Anyone have experience with one of these? Also, would a 24 foot be enough to get us up on the roof if need be?? We both have your typical 2 story colonial style houses. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Werner-24-ft-Aluminum-3-Section-Compact-Extension-Ladder-with-225-lb-Load-Capacity-Type-II-Duty-Rating-D1224-3/203274668
  7. 2006 Ford F150 Harley Davidson 4x4. I absolutely love this truck and probably wont look into anything else until this thing decides to quit on me.
  8. I absolutely Love my Weber Smokey Mountain, and would recommend it to anyone.
  9. checked it and you are correct. Tearing it down this week to straighten it out. Any suggestions on the router bit I originally asked about??
  10. not a bad deal, but I wish they had a deal going on a kit. Costco had a deal on the fuel sawzall kit with 2 batteries a case and a charger for 299. I should have jumped on that but I took too long to think about it and it was sold out by the time I went back.
  11. Ill have to double check it then, it was taken with an iphone so idk if thatd have anything to do with it.
  12. the joists run front to back, so it isnt a load bearing wall. This wall is a very common thing done to the houses in my development. I thought of doing some sort of wine cooler and small cabinets with a matching coutertop with bar stools under. Its just too much $$ to put out that I wont see when I sell. Thats what sucks about townhomes, you could dump 100k into it, its still worth about the same as your neighbor
  13. Very cool. My neighbor is HUGE into turning wood. He has like 3 lathes in his garage and makes some really cool stuff, mostly bowls. He offered to teach me a little, I need to take advantage of that.
  14. how would I go about bringing out the smaller bulk head to match the larger one?? That's all duct work behind both so is there framing around them?? Im not sure how to even go about doing that.
  15. Want to leave the half wall up because we have the little breakfast table that goes up against it. It would look awkward to have the table and no wall. As for the bulk head, it holds the duct work. Bringing out the smaller one to match the other one sounds like a good idea Ill have to talk it over with the wife. This was really supposed to be a quick little project lol. I can always just finish up what I have already and decide from there what way to go with it.
  16. I wanted to keep the cap across the bulkhead to plate and trim like the rest of the house is done but decided against the idea mid way. There was a doorway there originally and I replaced what was there, just ran it over the additional 6ish feet. The middle of the 2x3 looks lower because of the cuts in the drywall, its an illusion in the picture.
  17. So I decided to start the half wall project between the kitchen and dining room. So far so good. I didn't go as far as tearing it down and rebuilding like I probably should have so it does have a little bit of play but nothing bad. About as good as its going to get for 2x3 studs (don't ask). I figured the project cost me almost nothing so If it doesn't work out, ill just tear it down and do it over again. Just have the chair rail molding, some drywall work and finishing touches to do. Right now I'm stuck on the top of the wall. I have a 1x6 piece of pine I'm using to cap the wall. I cant decide what shape I should router the edges besides just rounding them over. Maybe a double quarter round?? Any suggestions on a cool shape??
  18. With my experience with them, its really a hit or miss when it comes to their power tools.
  19. Welcome, a ton of useful info and great members here
  20. You can count me in! Thanks for giving back to the crew!
  21. First attempt at St Louis ribs. Have to say they really turned out great for my first try at them. I bought the ribs with the store rub already on them. Figured why put the effort into making up my own rub if I didnt know how they were going to turn out anyway. Next time ill focus more on making my own. Also really want to try a brisket, I hear that can be a 10-12 hour cook tho haha. Not sure if im ready for that.

I have my streamlight stinger, works great for all my needs and always hanging on the charger ready to go. Been considering buying the led upgrade for it also.
  24. Lol you bypass if such repairs are needed. As hard as it is to believe the smell really isnt that bad. Smells like money to me haha
  25. Im a mechanic at a wastewater treatment facility, so yeah were up and running 24/7/365. The crazy schedule is to make sure that out of the 3 employees in each department on second shift, there are always at least 2 guys on. I dont mind the schedule, its the hours Im over. Been there about a decade now I kinda expected to be a first shifter by now!!
